Check Storm Doors

Khalid and Torinn are new arrivals to Cliffshadow. They recently escaped from a pirate ship in Hindmarsh. They go up to talk to Tomtom about joining the Freelancers and accept the quarterly mission to check the storm doors for the Wymar Adelard of the dockworkers.

Khalid and Torinn traverse the tunnels in order from South to North.

• Tunnel #1
  • Inside doors: surface rust, Khalid notes this
  • Outer doors: rocks wedging, Torinn notices, and removes the rocks. 
  • Dog leg has poo in corner
    • Investigating: Torinn knows humanoid poo, Khalid knows teenager poop

  • Inside doors: door latch is crushed by cartwheel, can’t be closed
  • Outer doors: Khalid notices scraped off graffiti “skyguard sux”

  • Inside doors: both distracted by very pretty peregrin gryphons, notice nothing
  • Outer doors: both rolled low, doors seem fine
  • Swarm of rats
    • Khalid slashes twice, Torinn mashes rats to death, rats bit Khalid

  • Inside doors: both rolled low, doors seem fine.
  • Outer doors: Khalid & Torinn both roll 18  - see dirty hinges
  • Amar is begging “need more drinking money”
    • He’s got a flask and some rumpled cloth to sit on. 
    • They talk to him, he asks for money or drink
      • Says his name is Amar, asks for them to think of him in the future if they have money or alcohol. Preferably they can bring him alcohol.

  • Inside doors: Khalid low, Torinn high: Khalid wondering what is in strange shops instead of paying attention to storm doors. Torinn notes that this end of the tunnel is pretty well kept.
  • Outer doors: both pretty high rolls: could use grease in hinges, but in good shape
  • Take a look around for their former fire elemental ship, but don’t see it. Pretty sure it isn’t there. 
    • Scurrilous Scallywag is their former ship
• Tunnel #6
  • Inside doors: Khalid rolls high, Torinn med. They notice a bit of dry rot
  • Outer doors: both roll high, little bit of what looks like dry rot in the oak timbers of the door.
• Report back to Wymar
  • They note the poo, Wymar is displeased but unsurprised
  • Give report: noting smashed latch & dry rot especially
    • Don’t mention Amar

Leveling:

• Khalid → level 1 rogue
• Torinn → level 1 barbarian
