Apastron was upon them, and on the skylith Commerce, the twin cities of Ripa Daneo & Gata Nahaki were abnormally quiet. Bonfires were in abundance as the residents of the cities observed the need to create space in honour of Korekore, primordial god of Void.
In Ripa Daneo, people were yarn bombing trees in the parks. Most of it was interesting and artful, but in the more upper-class neighbourhoods, some in Society found their trees uglified by rivals or pranksters. In the below, the grey market was closed; Jenzabar and his crew cleared out anything and everything in Inky Agora that hadn't been removed by its owners… or some other claimant.
Not all of the Thieves' Guild was in evidence, however. On this day, Gata Nahaki was doing some cleaning of its own by exiling its prisoners and criminals, with prejudice: they departed off the western edge of the Rim, via very large purpose-built trebuchets.
Devotees of Korekore would use this day to gauge their earlobes, or possibly other body parts if earless like Pteroti or dragonborn. As the day waned, people from both cities would gather on the edge of the gorge, and launch candle boats on the river, to go over the waterfall as the Daystar set over the edge of the skylith.
Terrance, Fine Branch, and Dryali were bemused to note the differences between this civilisation and that on Duquesne, or other skyliths. Terrance hugged the yarn bombed trees, inspired by people's care, and worried about tree health. Dryali observed the holiday's universal traditions, and somewhat sadly placed the remaining branches he had from awakened trees, and the giant elk antlers, on the large bonfire in the street outside of the Freelancers Tavern.
Fine Branch mostly stayed indoors; he'd been crafting an intricate scale model of the Duquesne Freelancers Tavern, and finished it on Apastron. He presented the model to Damakaios, who was impressed. Then he admonished Damakaios, "Make sure you avoid any property damage to it!"
Damakaios raised an eyebrow at Fine Branch. Somehow, from the depths of his pockets or belt pouch, Fine Branch produced two comically large eyebrows and applied them to his own face, and then raised an eyebrow back. Then he sauntered away like a cat. Damakaios shook his head, then retrieved an appropriate case, and put the scale model in a corner of the lounge next to his office door, where it was unlikely to get jostled or damaged by passerby.
