- Murai, Timmy, Dominic Holyarm, Kairos Greybeard, and Aranel Neras-Dumaren were assigned the mission from Adrian Bryant of the Church of Storms, to backtrack the two people who orchestrated the attack and investigate their activities in Cliffshadow.
- The Freelancers visited Church of Storms to gather what information they could from Adrian Bryant and the guard Bachtell.
- Tracking in the direction Bachtell indicated, the Freelancers found a pair of teenagers who'd seen the Daystar heretics emerge from The Swan.
- Before visiting The Swan, the Freelancers checked out the dungeon that had held the other Daystar cultists, and learned nothing new.
- Since The Swan is a honeymoon inn, the Freelancers prepared a ruse that Dominic and Kairos had just gotten married, which Murai and Timmy ignored when talking to the concierge, Malak. They discovered the Daystar cultists had prepaid for their room, and obtained a key.
- The indicated room was empty, other than three tiny Daystar elementals and one halfling-sized. The Freelancers attempted to shut them in and call for Malak, but a fight ensued in which the elementals were destroyed.
- Along with the concierge, the Freelancers searched the room, to find evidence the Daystar cultists had a map prepared of the Church of Storm grounds.
- The Freelancers brought this news to Adrian Bryant, who paid them their fee of 100 eagles each.
- Returned to Freelancers Tavern the same day.
