The Fulcrum Holiday on Commerce holds tremendous significance, as it celebrates Rohe, the primordial god of Boundary, whose living presence is evidenced by the gorge separating Ripa Daneo and Gata Nahaki.  Also the skylith has enough garuda living on it that The Eagle is celebrated as well.

One of the larger bridges spanning the gorge, across the middle, has a large Shrine of Rohe in the center, which also marks the boundary between the two cities' jurisdictions.  Another large bridge, upstream and across the top, sees less traffic and more shows, as it is controlled by Carnivale.

The celebrations spill from these two bridges into the streets of both cities and encompass the streets all the way to the Rim of the crater, which is not only its own boundary, but also a great place from which to hang glide or launch kites.  Tolls and fees to visit the opposing city are suspended for the duration; slacklines are suspended across the gorge for the daring to try ‒ those who lack the favour of Rohe (or a natural sense of balance) can and sometimes do tumble to their deaths.  On their bridge, and on parallel slacklines, Carnivale puts on a great show of juggling and acrobatics; the streets adjacent to the gorge also have amateurs competing in contests, and many stalls with street food.

The Freelancers most interested in these celebrations were Terrance and Glesni.  Terrance could not resist the temptation to try the slackline, and persuaded the keepers to let her try.  She made it across no problem, and even did a cartwheel in the center, impressing all watchers.  Glesni, who followed Rohe, visited the Shrine of Rohe in the middle gorge, and offered 15 eagles towards upkeep.  While there she had a great view of Terrance on the slackline.

Afterwards, Glesni made her way through the streets of Ripa Daneo to the Rim, and launched a kite of her own.  She never told anyone what was on the note.  In the distance to the east, she could see the hang glider students put on a display; they were getting hassled by tiny mechanical hawks.

Tai and Nix were wandering the streets, enjoying the festival, watching the acrobats and jugglers.  Tai was sampling all the street food, and realized he'd eaten too much far too late.  Nix avoided most of the street food, but was able to persuade the drink vendors to make the fanciest, most fabulous street cocktails.

Fine Branch, the nekomata Cleric of The Cat, wasn't particularly into celebrating Rohe and was certainly not interested in celebrating The Eagle.  However, with so many street vendors, Fine Branch decided to go shopping for something interesting to buy.  They ended up acquiring hot pink short-shorts with the symbol of Rohe on the ass, the vertical line running down their buttcrack.  No, I don't know how that actually looks with a two-tailed feline humanoid either.
