The Duquesne nearsky was cloudless, the morning of the Contemplation of Calm.  This early, the eastern city of Cliffshadow was fairly quiet.  Although the port was brightly lit, the cliff itself shielded the city from the dawn rays of the Daystar.

Most people at Freelancers Tavern were asleep.  The tavern was not yet open for business, and those that lived above it were relaxed, sleeping, somewhat reveling in the idea that's exactly what they were supposed to do.  Elwin Sarberos, a Cloud elf who'd joined the Freelancers the prior day, was especially happy to have a place to stay and dream, without fear of getting rousted.

Freelancers stirred at different times.  Nahele Amaru, a Rain sagani daughter of a human and a Wild elf, rose somewhat early to walk the trails north of Cliffshadow.  She'd recently decided her destiny was to be a ranger, and she felt the best way to spend the day was exploring the trails north.  She found that monks from the Orderly Stones monastery had taken it upon themselves to watch the trails, ensuring the unwary did not get lost.

Sofiya, a tall, thin firbolg who'd joined Freelancers after moving to Cliffshadow from Hindmarsh, was exploring how the new city expressed a holiday.  She learned the Temple of Serenity led all who wished through starter Tai Chi forms throughout this holiday, and decided to try it out.

Ricardo Monroe, Adventurer Extraordinaire, did not go anywhere nor participate in any tea ceremonies.  The bard savored the alone time in a quiet corner of the back tavern, writing memoirs and trying to make sense of the last prime.  His pegasus Legend had been slain by an unnatural, giant scorpion on Waypoint Resource.  Peb Pebbles had been telling their own version of events, which was now well known; Ricardo wanted to workshop the ballad of Legend's demise so it would properly engage the audience's empathy.  That said, he still had to process what'd happened, himself.  The bard paused his writing from time to time, contemplating a couple of large pegasus feathers.
