Redbridge
Type
Skylith
The unevenly-shaped skylith Redbridge orbits in the lower part of the upper reaches, a short distance outward of a shear wall. The habitable surface is in 3 distinct lobes which span 75 miles on the long axis. Ancient, played-out dwarf mines dot the landscape, their tailings long overgrown; dwarf ruins stand almost silent near an impressively wrought bridge spanning the canyon towards skylith south. Trade relies mainly on goods produced from the alpaca herds kept by the hobgoblins in the north lobe of the skylith and some fine workworking from the Djogeon in the canyon to the south.
- Orbit:
- Circular, slightly tilted, with nodes precessing (rate [TBD]). 32 hr day([TBD])
- Rotation:
- synchronous
- Gravity:
- strong
- Climate:
- Cold and humid air can result in frost and occasional snow, especially near apastron. Winds across the ridgetops keep them and the western slopes dry, but small lakes and streams are fed by the precipitation.
- Terrain:
- Mountains on the west side of the central lobe, with a canyon to the south. They give way eastward to rolling hills which flatten out somewhat, covered in alpine tundra. The north and south lobes have boreal forests to the west which also give way to rolling hills and alpine tundra. Djogeon dwellings extend along the canyon eastward of the red bridge. The forests have bobcats, deer, flying squirrels, wolpertingers; the alpine meadows also have rabbits and foxes.
- Governance:
- per settlement
Associations Present:
- Council of Antiquaries has a campus in Arachis.
- The Great Workshop of Eternal Refinements has a small workshop in Zwis.
- Stalwart Order of Toka and Tikanga has a monastery northwest of the red bridge, Tidy Talus.
