  • Peb Pebbles, Carmen Granau, Elwin Sarberos, and Beck & Bock Hudson took the mission from Martin of Kowiri Music & Tavern to track down the origin of the rats attacking his tavern.
  • The Freelancers headed over to the western Trade District, and found some rats.  Carmen and Peb used speak with animals to ask them about the organized rats, but these rats ran away when Peb shaped a dire rat.
  • The Freelancers wandered in the direction provided to find an alley behind a bunch of specialty food shops.  In the alley, very orderly rats were raiding the refuse bin of Ye Olde Ice Creame Shoppe.  Peb, still shaping a dire rat, joined their line, trying to get more information.
  • The Freelancers, other than Peb, were swarmed by the rats, including two big ones.  Carmen invoked Āhua to charm them, and again cast speak with animals, to learn how they had become organized.
  • The rats told Carmen that "rat people" had been teaching them to raid in this fashion, in exchange for their sometimes attacking Kowiri.  He also learned that the "rat people" were sometimes people and sometimes rats.  Expressing the Freelancers desire to meet these "rat people", he procured a promise from the rats to bring a note.
  • Peb remained with the orderly rats until they arrived home, to find it's a very nice place: clean, well-stocked, comfortable.  Once there, Peb negotiated with the two big rats, using some cheese they'd been carrying as a rat bribe.  The big rats agreed that Peb could meet the "rat people" but were unaware Peb was with the other Freelancers, and demurred at having everyone meet at once.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.

  • Mission pay: 100 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Shimni Ioelena Qinyarus, Ricardo Monroe, Tui Toodles, Nahele Amaru, and Elwin Sarberos accepted the mission from Sinéad Willowsteal, Mayor of Cliffgate, to visit Ophelia and stop the lions that are raiding their cattle.
  • The Freelancers travelled to Ophelia without incident, mostly on foot, getting there on the 4th day.  While in Cliffgate, they visited the Mayor, who gave them more info and promised to pay them upon return.
  • Upon arrival in Ophelia, the Freelancers spoke to Routh Girikima, a human woman, about the lions.  She offered hospitality and dinner and suggested they go after lions on the morrow.
  • The next morning, Embu Girikima told the Freelancers where to find the lions, and following his directions, they found three large lions:  a male and two lionesses.
  • The Freelancers fought and slew the lions, but sustained slashes themselves from the lions' claws.
  • With assistance from the other Freelancers, Nahele determined there were no other lions, and skinned the ones they slew.
  • After another night in Ophelia, the Freelancers headed back to Cliffshadow.  The Mayor of Cliffgate paid their mission fee of 100 eagles each on the way back, as promised.

  • Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Dominic Holyarm, Minji, Murai, Mia Taumata, and Manu were sent on a mission from Mayor Kaiea Tihani of Cliffshadow to visit the wizard Gwidion in the Northridge Mountains, and confirm he was not continuing to pollute the Pirates River.
  • The Freelancers took flying mounts and travelled to Pirates Dream river along the treeline without incident, arriving in the afternoon of the Contemplation of Calm.
  • From there the Freelancers flew upriver, keeping watch for mutated wildlife, but were still on Pirates Dream when they encountered swarms of froggoths.  The swarm concentrated the hallucinatory effects, but the Freelancers slew them and took samples to display for the wizard.
  • After camping overnight, the Freelancers arrived at Gwidion's Tower the afternoon of the following day.  They scouted the area and confirmed slight traces of magic mixed in the water, but did not see any brightly coloured effluent.
  • The Freelancers knocked on the door of the tower, and announced themselves.  Gwidion spoke with them, revealing he'd contracted with an artificer, Futsu Blackrind, to create a purifying device for the effluent.
  • An argument ensued, in which the Freelancers disbelieved the efficacy of the machine.  Gwidion offered to provide them with an "extreme shrinking" potion, which they could use to examine the machine from the inside.  The Freelancers trusted this proposal even less.
  • Eventually an agreement was reached, in which Blackrind also went with the Freelancers, and the potion would be adjusted to prevent problems returning to normal size.
  • The following day Gwidion turned off the machines, and the Freelancers and Blackrind took the potion and entered the purifier machine via a drainage pipe.
  • The Freelancers and Blackrind encountered various hazards one might expect in a drainpipe.  Once they were in the machine, on Blackrind's suggestion they headed to the machine exit to see if it was overspilling.
  • The Freelancers found a creature had mutated and created its own domicile in the machine egress, so of course it had been overspilling.  They slew the creature and spent the rest of the day clearing the exit.
  • Once finished they inspected another machine for damaged filters, but concluded Blackrind could do that once normal size.
  • The Freelancers returned to normal size and reported their results to Gwidion.  With Blackrind and Gwidion, they drew up another contract to revisit for overspill once an eighth.
  • The next morning Gwidion, pleased at dispatching the last of the pollution problems, gifted the Freelancers with potions before they took their leave.
    • Lorcan, elixir of health & potion of stone giant's strength; Dominic, potion of heroism & potion of mind reading; Murai, potion of divination & potion of mind reading; Minji, potion of stone giant's strength & superior healing potion; Manu, potion of clairvoyance & superior healing potion; Mia, potion of divination & superior healing potion.
  • On arrival in Cliffshadow, the Freelancers reported these events to Arnari Rilynn’sithek, and delivered to her the new contract.  She paid them 225 eagles each for the mission and 50 eagles each for the finder's fee.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Petraag, 1st prime post-Calm.

  • Ricardo Monroe, Sofiya, Nahele Amaru, and Elwin Sarberos took the mission from Martin, owner of Kowiri Music & Tavern, to discover and stop the cause of mysterious holes appearing in the walls of the club.
  • The Freelancers visited Kowiri that afternoon.  They spoke to a barkeep and Martin, who showed them the holes and accompanying sabotage, and answered various questions about timing and extent.
  • The Freelancers devised a plan to watch over the course of the night.
  • While the club was open, Nahele and Elwin watched outside, Ricardo and Sofiya watched inside.  Some rats showed up; then, realizing they were spotted, withdrew.  Nahele tracked them as far as Trade District.
  • After the club closed Elwin watched inside, the others outside, and an organized mob of many rats, including two giant rats, arrived.
  • Ricardo cast suggestion on the giant rats, to expose if they were druids.  This did not work, so the Freelancers slew 2 giant rats & 3 rat swarms, but were no closer to solving the mystery.
  • The next morning, the Freelancers showed the giant rats to Martin, who claimed no knowledge.  He did pay the Freelancers 100 eagles each and requested another mission from Freelancers.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Chaostag, 1st prime post-Calm.

  • Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Dominic Holyarm, Minji, Peb Pebbles, Timmy, Shimni Ioelena Qinyarus, and Ricardo Monroe accepted the mission from Anuhea, Downpour of the Church of Ua, to deliver a Blessed Fountain crafted by the Church of Ua to Waypoint Resource and install it.
  • The Freelancers took a cart to the Church of Ua, where the Downpour instructed them on the installation of the Blessed Fountain, then gave it to them for delivery.
  • The Freelancers put the Blessed Fountain on the air elemental airship Tugendhat, captained by the human Letitia Herohouse, then retrieved their mounts and boarded.  They reached Waypoint Resource after 5 days of travel, which was somewhat turbulent.
  • Upon checking in with the stationmaster, Levtri, the Freelancers learned he had intended to install the Blessed Fountain inside the underground station.  They informed Levtri that was against the Downpour's instructions and a more appropriate place, outdoors, was selected.
  • The following morning, the Freelancers and Levtri moved the Blessed Fountain to the selected location.  Minji and Shimni did not accompany them.  Timmy began the installation, and supernatural giant scorpions materialized and attacked, slaying Ricardo's pegasus, Legend.
  • After defeating the giant scorpions, which glowed in the way of aquatic creatures, Minji and Shimni arrived, and Peb resumed the installation.  Another giant scorpion materialized, as well as swarms of flying scorpions, with similar markings.  These were also defeated.
  • Peb resumed the installation, but failed, as they injured themself in the process and Ua rejected the attempt.  However two more giant scorpions and three swarms of flying scorpions attacked.
  • Once these scorpions were defeated, the Freelancers moved swiftly to complete the installation.  Lorcan continued it, then Dominic tried but was unheard by Ua, then finally Peb completed it
  • Upon completion, the glowing marks faded and the giant scorpions decayed in the heat of the Daystar.  The Freelancers, upon examination, concluded they'd been sent directly from Moana, who was displeased Ua was thwarting some plan for the Resource skylith.
  • That evening, the Waypoint station had a ceremony to celebrate the fountain, and commemorate the slain pegasus.  The Freelancers kept watch for more scorpions appearing, but they did not.
  • Two days later the air elemental ship Braidwood, captained by the Mikumwes Yacuanquer Constellation, picked up the Freelancers for their travel to Cliffshadow, which was 5 days without incident.
  • On arrival the Freelancers reported these happenings to Anuhea at Church of Ua, who paid their mission fee of 150 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Rochtag, last prime post-Apastron.

  • Minji, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, Ricardo Monroe, Tui Toodles, Sofiya, and Latae accepted the ongoing mission from the wizard Gwidion to clean up altered wildlife along Pirates River.
  • The Freelancers doubled-up on flying mounts to travel in 2 days to the Pirates Dream river fork, despite inclement weather.
  • The following day, the Freelancers journeyed slowly up Pirates River until they found a meadow with big flowers nestled in a curve of the river.  Ricardo and Tui attempted to pick a big seed from one, to discover the plant was awakened and in the form of a big cat.
  • The Freelancers battled three of these big "cat-flowers":  a Tiger lily, a Violet panther, and a Dandy lion.  They slew the latter two but before vanquishing the third, a unicorn appeared unexpectedly.
  • The unicorn immediately slew the Tiger lily, and questioned the Freelancers on their relationship to the unnatural plants.  The Freelancers assured the unicorn they were attempting to clean up the unnaturalness of the area, then the unicorn disapparated.
  • The Freelancers checked the rest of the meadow for unnatural flowers, then harvested the plant parts and returned to Cliffshadow.
  • Upon return to Freelancers Tavern, they informed Arnari Rilynn’sithek about their findings and the unicorn, and she paid them the mission fee of 90 eagles and 1 uncommon potion each: greater healing potion (Aranel), underwater breathing (Tui), oil of slipperiness (Latae), potion of poison (Minji), potion of fire breath (Sofiya), potion of growth (Ricardo).
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Petraag, 3rd prime post-Apastron.
