  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek selected Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Dominic Holyarm, Murai, Sabah Banu, Peb Pebbles, Shimni Ioelena Qinyarus, and Ricardo Monroe to capture or kill the person(s) who interfered with the Demonstration of Prowess.  She had their location and the 8 of them sketched out an initial plan in her office.
  • The selected Freelancers headed over to the location they need to be, an apartment over a butcher shop in the western Trade District.  Sabah and Murai checked in with Tobiah and Moulari, who had been keeping watch.
  • Murai's dire corgi, Dudley, appropriated wares from the butcher's shop, interfering with any attempt to be incognito.
  • Upon learning from Tobiah their target remained in the apartment, the Freelancers took up positions in preparation for him exiting the apartment.  Peb lowered Lorcan on a rope in front of a window, and Lorcan exploded a couple mason jars from Peb's dung collection in the middle of the apartment.
  • The person within informed Natali he's been discovered, then exited.  As the Freelancers piled on, he used chess pieces to summon skeletons.  By the end of the altercation, the Freelancers had vanquished the skeletons, and captured their target.
  • The Freelancers stripped their detainee of his valuables and magic items, then took those and him to the Mayor of Cliffshadow.  The Mayor took custody, but gave the valuables to the Freelancers.

  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek selected Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, Ricardo Monroe, and Tui Toodles to talk to the Academy of Magic and discover who interfered with the Demonstration of Prowess on the prior Petraag.
  • The Freelancers walked over to Academy of Magic, where Sidama Gerbicho, assistant to the Dean, put them in touch with Jeddry, the Mikumwes who had helped set up the arena.
  • Jeddry led the Freelancers to the laboratory room with all the items used for this activity, fielding questions along the way.
  • As the Freelancers checked out the room, Lorcan and Tui found one of the barrier magic items had been altered.  Maghris found a dragonchess pawn.
  • Tui found the pawn was part of a pair, and somehow convinced it to point to its peer.  The Freelancers followed Tui's magic pointer to a block in the western part of the Trade District.
  • The Freelancers, through various peering through windows, discovered where the person who'd altered the arena barrier was staying, and set up a watch over the place.
  • They returned the chess piece to the Dean, and Arnari paid them a mission fee of 100 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern the same day.

  • The Freelancers traveled to Gemhallow on the air elemental airship Tugendhat, captained by Letitia Herohouse.
  • The Tugendhat was almost to the Pembroke boundary when it ran afoul of a hatzegopteryx pursuing 4 crested pteranodons as prey.  The Freelancers drove off the hatzegopteryx and captured the two fastest crested pteranodons.
  • Ricardo delivered the courier pouch to Einkil Logehr, leader of the Gemhallow Freelancers, who paid the Cliffshadow Freelancers a fee of 100 eagles each, and requested they bide a day to take back his responses and other correspondence.

  • From there, the Freelancers went to The Park, and easily found the stallion, who was very interested in the apples Latae had bought on the way to the stables.

  • The Freelancers put on a demonstration of prowess for the entertainment of others in Pegasus Square, in an arena set up by the Academy of Magic.
  • The battle was a Free For All. It included Dominic Holyarm, Manu, Peb Pebbles, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, and Kairos Greybeard.  Peb took first place, with Dominic second, and Manu third.
  • All participants received a prize of 100 eagles, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd awarded additional prizes of 300 eagles, 200 eagles, and 100 eagles.
  • Upon reviewing the combat later that afternoon, it became clear to Freelancer and Academy of Magic leadership that the arena integrity had been compromised, both diminishing the entertainment and calling the prowess of the participants into question.  Both organizations embarked on investigations.

  • 1st place = 300 eagles for Peb
  • 2nd place = 200 eagles for Dominic

  • The Freelancers travelled 6 days without incident, flying direct from Three Rivers to Hindmarsh.
  • The day after arrival, the Freelancers visited Vaughn Quickrein, in charge of House Ha'aheo's warehouses in Hindmarsh, who directed them to work with the guide Hirrithak to find the bullywug encampment in question.
  • With Hirrithak's help, the Freelancers took two days to find the bullywug encampment.
  • Leaving Hirrithak away from any combat, the Freelancers laid waste to the structures there, slaying everything but one bullywug caster, who fled.  The slain included a young hydra that severely injured Minji.

  • Dominic Holyarm, Ka Kekoa, Peb Pebbles, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, Damian Galanis, and Colt Cunningham accepted the standing mission to hunt hippogryph eggs for House Aldous.
  • Using flying mounts, the Freelancers took 3 days to travel without incident to Haven.
  • In Haven, Dominic set up a contract with Bertana Plumblossom to fund free beverages for Freelancers at The Local Flavour for a year, in exchange for his enriching the land in one of her struggling orchards.
  • While availing themselves of this largesse, Ka and Aranel made the rounds to learn where to find hippogryphs.  Locals informed them the hippogryphs to the southeast had gotten bold and dangerous.
  • The next day the Freelancers flew in the direction indicated by field hands, and came across a large hippogryph nest nurtured by four hippogryphs.
  • The Freelancers waited for two to fly off, then slew one hippogryph, captured another, and retrieved 16 eggs from the nest.
  • After staying in Haven overnight, the Freelancers returned to Cliffshadow albeit with more effort because of the captured hippogryph.
  • Upon delivery to House Aldous, Odo paid the Freelancers 600 eagles plus a trained gelding hippogryph for the eggs, and 1500 eagles for the captured hippogryph.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern during Celebration of Apastron.

  • Valan Naidon was dispatched by Arnari Rilynn’sithek to transport the hydra goose egg to Mantzur, with a request that Korfel Goltorrah evaluate it as a product of nature and whether the hydra geese Freelancers had been encountering were a breeding population.
  • Valan took most of the day to fly directly to Mantzur.  His arrival surprised Korfel, who had just sent other Freelancers back to Cliffshadow with a message for Arnari.
  • With Valan observing, Korfel verified that the egg had a viable goose hydra offspring inside.  He also confirmed it was a pollution-caused monstrosity, with no place among Āhua’s creatures, and destroyed it.
  • Valan stayed the night in Mantzur and flew back the following day.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Petraag, last prime post-Planting.
