  • Sabah Banu, Manu, Minji, Ka Kekoa, Aranel Dumas-Nemaren, Peb Pebbles, and Vinegar Tom {Vin} accepted the ongoing mission from the wizard Gwidion to clean up altered wildlife along Pirates River.
  • The Freelancers travelled for 3 days during abysmal weather  along the treeline to the northeast end of Mossey Lake.  Peb's cart ended up mired in the mud and was left behind.
  • While camping near Mossey Lake, the Freelancers heard an overnight battle between an owl gryphon and a giant elk to the northeast.
  • The next morning, the Freelancers headed to the site of the battle, along the River of Dreams.  They found a clearing with a giant elk carcass and signs of two owl gryphons.
  • The owl gryphons were still guarding the carcass, and Peb was mauled by one of them, but survived.  A brief but vicious battle ensued which ended with the Freelancers knocking out the owl gryphons.
  • The Freelancers bound the owl gryphons so they cannot fly off, then searched for the nest.  It had no eggs, so Peb and Sabah butchered the giant elk carcass to harvest meat and antlers.
  • The Freelancers returned to the cart and then to Cliffshadow with the captured owl gryphons.  The weather had improved, but the mud and wild gryphons slowed their journey to require 5 days' travel.
  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek, leader of the Freelancers on Duquesne, declared the mission failed, and withheld the mission fee.
  • The Freelancers traded the owl gryphons to House Liona; since they were a mated pair, the House was willing to provide two trained mounts in trade.  Peb took a trained owl gryphon, and Vin took a trained martial eagle gryphon.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Okeanostag, last prime post-Periastron.
Loot
  • broken giant elk antlers (sold for 150 eagles total)
  • pair mated owl gryphons (traded to House Liona)
    • Owl Gryphon - Peb
    • Martial Eagle Gryphon - Vin

  • Murai, Dominic Holyarm, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, and Aranel Dumas-Nemaren accepted the mission requested by Adrian Bryant, of the Church of Storms, to negotiate with several air elementals to the south of Cliffshadow.  The Church was concerned the air elementals could enter the harbour and wreak havoc with the shipping.
  • The Freelancers journeyed south for more than half a day to find several small air elementals playing in the breeze.  They asked to speak with the parents and three much larger air elementals were fetched.
  • After an initially adversarial conversation, the air elementals agree not to go to the harbour.  It was plain to the Freelancers the primary concern was the children.
  • The small elementals could care less about the adults' concerns, and just wanted to play.  After they initiated a game of tag with Maghris' homunculus, Dominic set up an air slide using gust of wind and the elementals had a grand time playing.
  • The next day, the Freelancers returned to Church of Storms and reported these happenings to Adrian Bryant, who paid their fee of 100 eagles each.  He noted that the Typhoon, Waiola Vaina, was depressed, and mused aloud about using the cute fluffy elementals as therapy.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Kenostag, 3rd prime post-Periastron.
Loot
  • Mission pay: 100 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Minji, Timmy, Dominic Holyarm, Kairos Greybeard, and Peb Pebbles accepted the mission from Wymar Adelard to apprehend Siddiqui, a leader of the organized press gang plaguing the Cliffshadow dockworkers and airship crew, now that his location had been discovered.
  • Lorcan and Timmy scouted the outside of Siddiqui's place, while Dominic, in the shape of a spider, entered the building to spy on the inside.
  • When the person cooking a meal smashes the spider, Dominic tried to act as if he belonged there, admonishing the cook to improve the soup.
  • Dominic's ruse failed when another person showed up, and a melee resulted, involving all the Freelancers, and various press gang members emerging from the upstairs and basement.  Siddiqui attempted to escape, but in the end the Freelancers downed or captured all but two of them, including Siddiqui.
  • The Freelancers searched the place and found some papers which did not reveal any new information.  Six prisoners were being held in the basement, whom they freed.  They left the papers, and took 158 gold which they found, to make it look like a common robbery.
  • The Freelancers stabilized and bound the downed thugs, then using Peb's cart, brought them all to Wymar; except for the cook, whom Dominic stabilized and left passed out in the alley with a cookbook.
  • Wymar paid the Freelancers their fee of 150 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.
Loot
  • Coin: 158 eagles in assorted coin
  • Mission pay: 150 eagles (10% to Freelancers)

  • Manu, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, Kairos Greybeard, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, and Vinegar Tom {Vin} took the mission from Wymar Adelard to find the hideout of "Siddi", Klepperich's boss within the organized press gang sending people to Hindmarsh.
  • On the way to check out taverns to search for rumours about the press gang, Manu was convinced he saw someone getting impressed and gave chase.  The other Freelancers followed and were ambushed in a hidden courtyard by 4 would-be muggers.
  • In the ensuing scrap, Manu was gravely injured, but Maghris healed him; two muggers were captured, and two fled.
  • After relieving them of weapons, 120 eagles in coin, and boots, the Freelancers held a long conversation with their captive muggers.  They learned Siddi is short for Siddiqui, he is working with a bard, and is based in the western Trade District.  They did not learn the name of the bard, only a description.
  • During the conversation they also determined these two muggers would actually be valuable additions to Freelancers.  They subsequently let the muggers go, but kept the coin and weapons.  Manu informed them Freelancers Tavern would be where they could retrieve their weapons.
  • Manu and Kairos returned to Freelancers Tavern and informed Arnari of potential recruits, then spent time in the front tavern to learn any gossip about this bard.  He cast invisibility on Kairos and Catherine, Kairos' pegasus, so they could investigate from above, unseen.
  • The other Freelancers checked out the information wrt the location of Siddiqui's base of operations, in western Trade District.  Vin heard tavern gossip confirming it and sent Kairos, flying above, to check out the building, and Kairos confirmed that Siddiqui was there.
  • Upon their return to Freelancers, Arnari paid 135 eagles each for the information.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.
Loot
  • Coin: 120 eagles
  • Mission pay: 150 eagles (10% to Freelancers)
