  • Ka Kekoa, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, Timmy, Kairos Greybeard, and Vinegar Tom {Vin} accepted the mission from Ismay Wolfkiss to find the materials stolen from his construction site between Cliffshadow and Cliffgate, and stop the thieves from future thefts.
  • The Freelancers travelled by flying mounts to the travel stop, and learned from Ismay the details about what was missing.  They mingled with other travelers and vendors there to determine these others were not experiencing thefts.
  • That night the Freelancers kept watch, and Maghris used magical tinkering to cause a bag of mortar to shout if touched, but the night passed without incident.
  • The following day, Ka stayed at the inn construction site and kept watch.  Timmy and Aranel spoke to various vendors, spreading a rumour the Freelancers were departing that day.
  • Vin, Maghris, and Kairos took their flying mounts to investigate the woods around the inn construction site.  Kairos spotted four figures, keeping parallel with the road, but staying in the trees.
  • That evening, Maghris applied the magical tinkering to a new bag of mortar, and the Freelancers kept watch again, to be alerted when it started shouting as four persons availed themselves of building supplies.
  • The miscreants split up and fled, but the Freelancers chased them down and apprehended them.
  • Upon questioning, the four revealed they were stealing the supplies to fund purchase of that vile lotion made by the Daystar cult.  Furthermore, they learned that the leader, Injerto, had been a temple guard at Church of Storms up until Bright Thunder had been stolen.
  • The following day, Ismay paid the Freelancers their fee of 100 eagles each, and they returned to Cliffshadow with their prisoners, bringing them to Church of Storms.
  • The Typhoon was not present, but upon the return of the errant temple guard, Adrian Bryant paid the Freelancers a reward of 100 eagles each and took custody of the prisoners.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Nemostag, 1st prime post-Fulcrum.
Loot
  • Mission pay:  100 eagles each (10% cut to Freelancers)
  • Church of Storms reward:  100 eagles each

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Fine Branch, Tai Ho'onani, Nix Frostshaper, Terrance, and Glesni Bōhatei to Sugar Glider Hang Gliding School to deal with the flying constructs which are hassling the students.  Freelancer help had been requested by Manaja, Headmistress of the school.
  •  The Freelancers used their flying mounts to travel to the hang gliding school, and witnessed an instructor and a pair of students getting hassled by 4 mechanical hawks.
  •  The Freelancers intervened, wrecking 3 of the mechanical hawks and capturing the fourth.  As they did so, the hawks let out a loud call for help, so Fine Branch incapacitated the fourth hawk.
  • While the Freelancers skirmished with the hawks, the instructor and students fled to safety on the Rim.
  • 3 constructs resembling winged golden rams attacked the Freelancers from above.   The Freelancers prevailed, but not before the golden rams revealed they were equipped with flamethrowers, badly injuring Nix, Tai, Fine Branch, and their mounts.
  • Fine Branch, Tai, and Terrance flew to the school buildings to report these events to Manaja, who was surprised and dismayed to hear about the golden rams.  She paid the mission fee of 250 eagles each to Tai to distribute later.
  • Nix and Glesni recovered all the construct parts, by flying low over the area and using detect magic.  The golden rams were large enough to require disassembly and multiple bags of holding.
  • On return to Freelancers Villa, they spread the parts out in a meeting room as they reported to Damakaios.  Alvyn Ricker Nackle was thrilled to examine the parts, which he thought he could use to learn how to make his bear construct, "Arth", fly. He bought the lot for 4650 eagles.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.
Loot
  • 4 mechanical hawks (3 in pieces) (sold for 150 eagles total)
  • 3 large clockwork golden rams (sold for 1500 eagles per)
  • Mission pay:  250 eagles each (10% cut to Freelancers)

  • Mazandyth, the green dragon who was parent to Karpalor, the "Fake Snake" slain by Freelancers in 1055, visited Freelancers Tavern to make plain his offense that Karpalor's head was on display like a common hunting trophy.  He demanded the head, and also that in recompense, that Freelancers assist him in restoring the shrine to The Snake at the fork of the Haven River.
    • In particular, nothing but snakes was to be left alive in the shrine complex.
  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek assented to this task, and dispatched Lorcan Puddingrass Pasternack Tuinstra, Peb Pebbles, and Petrichor to scout ahead, locate the shrine, and determine what materials were needed for restoration.  Evvie, Laki, and Aleki would follow with the materials.  Laki infused sending stones, so the scouts could report back.
  • Peb, Petrichor, and Lorcan travelled for a day and a half on flying mounts to the fork of the Haven River, and located the shrine, which was underground with an entrance framed in stone lintels.
  • Two ogres occupied the outermost rooms of the complex, and the Freelancers dispatched those.
  • A quick inspection revealed stone facing on worked natural caves, with the tunnel roofs reinforced by wood beams.  The Freelancers relayed this to Laki on the sending stone.  Aleki, Evvie, and Laki spent the rest of the day gathering what was needed.
  • The next day, Arnari dispatched Dominic Holyarm, Manu, and Kaladan Ophinshtalajiir to assist the Freelancers already at the shrine.  Laki, Evvie, and Aleki departed on the roads with carts of materials, escorted by Mia Taumata, Murai, Minji, and Tim Jolly.
  • Dominic, Manu, and Kaladan arrived to discover Peb had tried to compost the ogres, resulting in a horrific smell.  Petrichor had left, with the sending stone, to find/meet up with Laki et al.  Kaladan started clearing bones from prior kills and covering it up.
  • The ogres had blocked the passage deeper into the complex, and the Freelancers cleared it and started to explore.  The downward tunnel had various traps in disrepair, yet still dangerous.  They navigated past to find a large cavern for contemplation, with benches, carvings, and flagstones in disrepair.
  • The cavern was home to many colonies of bats, with some stirges.  Manu slew the stirges and the Freelancers slew most of the bats while trying to persuade them to leave.  Peb and Lorcan learned from the bats the next cavern had aggressive vines.
  • Broad steps led down to the main shrine, which was a very long natural cave.  The Freelancers opted to wait for the others to arrive before testing themselves against "aggressive vines", and busied themselves cleaning up the general area and increasing the safety of the main passage.
  • It was plain to the Freelancers that Mazandyth was checking on progress.
  • The supplies and its escorts arrived on Chaostag, last prime post-Tumultuous.
  • The next day, Kaladan and Petrichor helped out Laki, Aleki, and Evvie with cleaning and restoration, while the others went to explore the main shrine.
  • Lorcan stealthed in, using a torch held with mage hand to illuminate the cavern for the others to see.  A large statue of The Snake, missing an eye, dominated one end, with some sort of water behind it.  Plant life, mostly vines, covered the floor.
  • The others stealthed up to Lorcan, but Manu was overstimulated, so dumped a bag of ball bearings unceremoniously on the floor to the Freelancers' right.
  • Two shambling mounds of vines and four sets of awakened vines attacked the Freelancers.  The Freelancers prevailed, but not before the mounds had absorbed Peb and Mia, who had to fight their way out.
  • The Freelancers explored the area around and behind the large statue.  Lorcan found and restored the statue's other eye, and Murai discovered coins at the base.  The water behind it was full of dangerous snakes.  Minji found a smaller shrine, surrounded by water, and made sketches.  Peb discovered the snakes expected to be fed, and they & Dominic fed the snakes goodberries.
  • The Freelancers also found two side passages.  One led to a private shrine & altar, with silver accoutrements, the other to a living area with a dormitory and private rooms, with deteriorated regalia for priests of The Snake.
  • Mindful of the green dragon, the Freelancers did not acquire any of the items they found, but instead returned to the others and reported these findings. Laki looked at Minji's sketches with interest, then followed her and Dominic down to look at the ruined benches and bridges.
  • For the next 6 days, the Freelancers worked to clean out the vines and filth from the complex, restoring the collapsed timber supports, replacing bridges across the water, rebuilding benches.  Dominic and Peb fed the snakes goodberries.  Minji was sent to Cliffgate twice for supplies, with a bag of holding; once for cots for the dormitory, once for other items suitable for restoring the kitchen area.
  • The day before Fulcrum, Mazandyth arrived, with several priests and acolytes of The Snake, who thanked the green dragon for his care, and took charge of the shrine from the Freelancers.
  • The Freelancers took one day to travel directly to Cliffgate.  They got rooms at the Hippogryph's Wing inn and spent the morning of the Fulcrum Holiday celebrating, before departing for Cliffshadow.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Remitag, 1st prime post-Fulcrum.
Loot
  • Coin:  200 eagles (split between Lorcan, Peb, Petrichor)
  • Gems:  25-eagle gemstones: rhodochrosite & blue quartz (split between Lorcan, Peb, Petrichor), orange carnelian (Manu)

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, assigned Fine Branch, Cathance Lobdhain, Quelenna, and Nix Frostshaper to investigate whether there were excess deaths in Ripa Daneo.  Freelancer help had been requested by High Abbott Grigario of Tranquil Crossing monastery, who felt such deaths would explain the shadows that had attacked the monastery.
  • The Freelancers began their investigation by visiting the crematorium of the Dolphin of Remembrance, to learn from Disciple Malunzo that the wasting disease that had struck the hobgoblins in Krowa had appeared in The Below.
  • Next, the Freelancers visited area of The Below Malunzo had indicated, to learn of two relatives of people who had died of the wasting disease, Lampetos Icebottom and Elsebee Halfkick.
  • Lampetos, a White dragonborn dockworker whose brother had died, gave the Freelancers directions to Parella Abrenta, who had gone missing and he thought was related.
  • The directions were not useful, and the Freelancers ended up in an altercation with some would-be muggers.  Nix was stabbed, but the Freelancers disabled the muggers, relieving them of their weapons and a shoe.
  • After some backtracking, Nix sent her familiar Mercury to find the desired location, a potion shop run by Parella's sister, Arteaga.  Arteaga informed the Freelancers that her sister had run off to join a commune to Te Mārie.  She noted in the conversation that Perella and Elsebee had also been friends.
  • The Freelancers sold the muggers' weapons to Ovak for 78 eagles, then reported their findings to Naranjos, who paid them their fee of 225 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.
Loot

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, sent Fine Branch, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, Quelenna, and Glesni Bōhatei to hunt phase spiders to provide venom & silk for House Hadid, having spent some funds to learn the general area of Commerce in which to find such creatures.  Freelancer help had been requested by Yolanda Hadid.
  • Since the Freelancers knew to look in the western part of the main mountain ridge, they flew to Kavali as a starting point. While overnighting at an inn there, Glesni and Quelenna heard two garuda hunters gossipping about a dangerous valley full of webs.
  • The next day, the Freelancers fly to where the hunters had indicated, and find a valley or gorge crisscrossed with spiderwebs.  Ana and Glesni set them on fire, as the Freelancers prepared to attack phase spiders.
  • The first phase spider they encountered was actually a large queen, her size dwarfing their initial expectations.  She was followed by three of her brood.
  • The Freelancers fight and slew these spiders, but not without getting bitten multiple times.
  • Tai and Fine Branch harvested the venom glands and spinnerets, while the other Freelancers burned away the rest of the webs to remove hazards for the local garuda.
  • Upon return to Ripa Daneo, the Freelancers delivered the materials to House Hadid, who was pleased to have paid 300 stars for the haul.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Vrontag, last prime post-Tumultuous, at which time they paid 30 stars Freelancers' Cut.
Loot
  • Mission pay: 300 stars total the phase spider venom and silk (10% to Freelancers) (remainder split)

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, sent Ondar Thundercaller, Cathance Lobdhain, Quelenna, Tuala, and Hikawera on the mission from House Amabel to clear more rooms in that uninhabitable villa they'd purchased.
  • At Hikawera's suggestion, the Freelancers verified that previously cleared areas in the Amabel Villa remained cleared.  To help see better, Ondar moved a door, which opened up more rooms.
  • The Freelancers investigated a foyer, or a sitting room, which connects to the atrium via a stairway down to the atrium.  While doing so they provoked three skeletons they hadn't immediately noticed, as well as a ghost.
  • The Freelancers easily slew the skeletons, but the ghost proved a challenge.  He would drift away after trying to steal favoured items.  During one such episode, Quelenna kicked open the doors to the next room, antagonizing another ghost who was easily dispatched.
  • After stealing Tuala's Astral Shard, the thieving ghost gravely injured the sorcerer.  Once they healed Tuala, the Freelancers finally dispatched the ghost and recovered his stolen item.
  • The Freelancers searched the two rooms and removed whatever valuables they found.  They cleaned up some filth, and cleared the stairway and door to the atrium.
  • On their return to Freelancers Villa that afternoon, Hikawera spent a couple hours identifying the items and determining their disposition.  Some magical drinking vessels of interest were added to the back tavern.

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, dispatched Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Tai Ho'onani, and Kaikoa to Waypoint Congress, to determine the disposition of the Daystar cultist lotion that had been shipped there.  Freelancer help had been requested by Tempest Addis of the Church of Storms on Commerce.
  • The Freelancers met Tempest Addis and requested funds for protection against Daystar elementals.  The Tempest paid an extra 400 eagles which the Freelancers used to acquire 4 potions of radiant resistance.
  • The next day, the Freelancers took passage on the Genovali, a wind elemental airship homed in Ripa Daneo captained by the half-elf Tanquary.  They travelled for 6 tags through mostly clear skies, to arrive at Waypoint Congress on Okeanostag, 2nd prime post-Tumultuous.
  • Fine Branch scouted the resort town on her hippogryph Nighthawk, quickly determining relatively widespread presence of Daystar lotion.  The others learned from conversations that the Happy Endings massage parlour was the likely source of it.
  • Kaikoa and Fine Branch posed as a couple wanting a massage to book an appointment at Happy Endings, and confirmed the likelihood of Daystar cultists there.  Upon returning to their rooms, Fine Branch cast clairvoyance to learn the masseurs for couples were using Daystar lotion as part of the massage and gently encouraging customers to try worshipping the Daystar.
  • The following day, Fine Branch showed up to the massage appointment alone and accidentally broke the Daystar lotion bottle, so the Freelancers can observe what the cultists did.  They learned that the cultists were storing their supply in a lead container.
  • That night, the Freelancers picked the locks, and Fine Branch brought the container back to their rooms.  Upon opening it, they encountered a Daystar elemental and destroyed it.  They then removed the lotion and returned the chest.
  • The next morning, the cultists, unaware they were being followed, made their way to a cave in which they were manufacturing the Daystar lotion.  The Freelancers, surprised upon this discovery, challenged the cultists, hoping to capture the warlocks making the lotion.
  • The Freelancers slew the cultists, but not before Kaikoa and Mordant were gravely injured, and Fine Branch and Tai were badly injured.  Fine Branch wanted to revivify and capture the warlocks, but they burst into Daystar elementals instead, which were negated by darkness cast by Dryali's intriguing Darkglobe device.
  • The stationmaster, Arnald Glasscloud, saw to the disposition of the Happy Endings massage parlour, and worked with the Freelancers to track down and assist anyone affected by the Daystar lotion they were using.
  • The Freelancers missed their passage back and departed a day later on the Strazzulla, a mechanical airship captained by coblygnome Sipi Alonserai Kaporon.  They travelled for 7 tags through clear skies.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Rochtag, 3rd prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • Almost a full crate of Daystar lotion
  • horseshoes of the storm (Tai)
  • Chromacloth (Fine Branch)
  • torc of restoration (sold to Freelancers for 4000 eagles, split between Kaikoa and Dryali)
  • Rocborn Robe (sold to Freelancers for 1500 eagles, split between Kaikoa and Dryali)
  • Mission pay: 250 eagles (10% Freelancer's cut)

  • Murai, Sabah Banu, Dominic Holyarm, Carmen Granau, Tim Jolly, and Petrichor accepted the mission from Korfel Goltorrah, leader of the Children of Āhua town Mantzur, to visit the tree housing giant bees and reduce the threat to his community.
  • The Freelancers traveled to Mantzur in 2 days, and stayed the night.  The following morning they spoke to Korfel, who told them the priority is to take out the bee-animated armours patrolling around the giant bee hive.
  • The Freelancers travelled south for 4 days until getting to the tree in question, which they found easily since Sabah knows the area.  Dominic had Bee-opatra, the giant bee he'd befriended, scout the area.  Unnaturally, one giant bee circled above, as if to keep watch.
  • The Freelancers camped, then the next day they went to the big tree while the giant bees had gone foraging.  Murai proposed a plan to use their rope of climbing to snare an animated armour and drag it out of sight from the giant bee circling above.
  • The plan met with some success and one of the armours was separated from the other two.  The Freelancers defeated all three animated armours full of bees, but not before Murai was badly injured.
  • Dominic tried to engage the circling giant bee, but it disappeared and seemed to head northwest.  Carmen learned the honey is enchanted, and Tim took part of the honeycomb.  Petrichor tries to check out the hive, and discovered a Wild elf from Mantzur dead and preserved in the honey.
  • The Freelancers returned to Mantzur with the remains of the dead elf, three battered suits of plate armour, and the honeycomb with enchanted honey.  Korfel held a funeral, after which he paid the mission fee of 100 eagles each, and sent them back to Cliffshadow with a request for another mission to check for any hags in the forest southwest of Mantzur.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Fysitag, 3rd prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • 3 sets of very battered animated armor worth 750 eagles each
    • 2 sets were sold
    • Murai claimed one set of armor and paid the value to the others
    • Everyone else got 450 eagles
  • ring of evasion - Petrichor

  • Sabah Banu, Dominic Holyarm, Vinegar Tom {Vin}, Carmen Granau, Shimni Ioelena Qinyarus, and Petrichor accepted the ongoing mission from the wizard Gwidion to clean up altered wildlife along Pirates River.
  • The Freelancers travelled to Lakeview along the roads in 3 days' time without incident.
  • From Lakeview they proceeded to track up the south shore of Lake Mossey, intending to follow Pirates Dream river upstream to Pirates River.
  • The first night they camped, the Freelancers were attacked by three froggoths and two chiminimerae, which they destroyed.
  • The following morning the Freelancers searched the area and located the nests of these creatures, confirming there were no more.  They also found a stash of uncut gems the froggoths had apparently been collecting.  Acquired:  2 lapis, a hematite, a rhodochrosite, a tiger eye, and a moss agate; all were uncut.
  • The Freelancers retraced their route back to Cliffshadow to bring news of the return of mutants along Pirates Dream river.
  • Since the mission was satisfied, Arnari Rilynn’sithek paid each their fee of 90 eagles and a potion: Vin and Sabah each got a philter of love, Shimni got a potion of water breathing, Petrichor got a potion of fire breath, Dominic an oil of slipperiness, and Carmen got a potion of poison.

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, assigned Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Nix Frostshaper, and Terrance to investigate the sponsor of the demon summoning at the Vangdondalor/Ghanjashka wedding earlier in the prime.  Freelancer help had been requested by Talaa Vangdondalor and Victor Ghanjashka.
  • The Freelancers flew in inclement weather to the Vangdondalor estate at which the wedding was held, and after stating their purpose, were guested overnight.
  • The following day, the Freelancers inspected the tents and other equipment used for the celebration for signs of magical tampering, and found nothing.
  • The Freelancers also interviewed Musicaa, first daughter of House Vangdondalor, and learned about this very interesting device at the estate which monitored for magic.  They explored the device's limitations and ascertained the woman who had recited the poetry was not, actually, the demon.  She mentioned to the Freelancers that House Drogo of Cliffshadow considered Ghanjashka to be competitors; they also learned that the alliance was initially to be concluded by Musicaa marrying Patrink Ghanjashka, but he fled the skylith.
  • After their interview with Musicaa the Freelancers returned to Ripa Daneo.
  • The next day, the Freelancers paid a visit to Ghanjashka Villa, and interviewed Artem Ghanjashka, first son of the House.  From Artem they learned that Patrink remained off-skylith and bitter, so was not involved.  He also confirmed House Drogo of Cliffshadow on Duquesne stood the most to gain from the incident, but had at least one member in attendance at the wedding.
  • From Ghanjashka Villa the Freelancers then visited the House Drogo offices near Ripa Daneo docks, and spoke to Kalic Drogo, who had attended the wedding.  Kalic was apparently still shocked by what had happened, but given his propensity to people watch, they ascertained that other than the woman who recited the poetry, he'd not noticed any other unexpected guests.
  • Upon reporting their disappointing findings to Naranjos, the Freelancers were paid a partial mission fee of 170 eagles (minus the Freelancers Cut).
Loot
  • Mission pay 170 eagles each (minus 10% Freelancers cut)
