  • Minji, Ka Kekoa, Dominic Holyarm, Aranel Neras-Dumaren, and Peb Pebbles accepted the mission from Wymar Adelard to capture Helias, leader of the press gang plaguing the Cliffshadow docks district.
  • The Freelancers started their search at the cellar Helias had been using as a staging area, and followed the escape tunnel to an alleyway in Trade District.
  • From the alley, the Freelancers split up to check nearby businesses and taverns if the proprietors had seen anything of note.  They had not, but Ka questioned a resident who lived along the alley and learned that Helias often frequented the Gilded Barrel.
  • The Freelancers went to the Gilded Barrel and formulated a plan to extract Helias and two cronies without causing mishap.  Unfortunately Helias spotted Aranel, and cast invisibility on himself.
  • Ka and Peb apprehended the two cronies while Aranel, Dominic, and Minji cast faerie fire multiple times, but failed to negate the invisibility.
  • Helias finally shattered a bar window and fled, but Dominic cast hold person so all were apprehended.  Dominic relieved Helias of 158 eagles and two instruments: a shawm and a flute.
  • The three press gang leaders were delivered to Wymar, who paid the Freelancers their mission fee of 150 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers same day, after which Aranel got uncharacteristically drunk and had to be escorted out of the tavern by Nohea Tasi.
Loot
  • Coin:  158 eagles
  • Instruments (sold for 3 eagles 6 cats):  shawm, flute
  • Mission pay: 150 eagles (10% to Freelancers)

  • Timmy, Kairos Greybeard, Tim Jolly, and Carmen Granau accepted the ongoing mission from the wizard Gwidion to clean up altered wildlife along Pirates River.
  • Because of the inclement weather, the Freelancers travelled to Lakeview in three days, intending to strike north from there to find if the situation had improved.
  • After a day of pleasant weather, the Freelancers were caught in a storm the next day, and encountered a pond with a couple of possibly aquatic ponies.
  • The "ponies" were actually plant-creatures, and attacked.  The Freelancers defeat them but not without effort, as the creatures were rather impervious to blows.
  • Carmen harvested the vines that remained of the creatures.  The Freelancers then checked the nearby beaver-dam and found various coins and items.  Acquired:  165 eagles of assorted coins, a bone statue of a pegasus worth 25 eagles, a dented copper cup worth 15 eagles, a tiny teapot silver vase worth 25 eagles, a cloak of elvenkind, and a +1 mace.
  • The Freelancers sheltered from the storm for the rest of the day then took 4 days travelling back to Cliffshadow via Lakeview.
  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek paid each their fee of 90 eagles and a potion:  Carmen got a philter of love, Kairos got a potion of fire breath, Tim got a potion of cold resistance, and Timmy got an oil of slipperiness.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Oriotag, 1st prime post-Tumultuous.

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, assigned Ondar Thundercaller, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, and Glesni Bōhatei to investigate problems in the vat rooms at the Hasapis Winery.  Freelancer help had been requested by Niccore Hasapis.
  • The Freelancers used flying mounts and spent the rest of the day travelling to Hasapis Winery in inclement weather.
  • That evening the Freelancers dined with the Hasapis and learned that the vats were springing inexplicable leaks, and artificers which had been brought in to repair and examine the problem were stumped.  The leaks were happening at random times, so a watch was unnecessary and the rooms could be examined during the day.
  • The next day, Zurito Hasapis took the Freelancers to the vat room with the most problems.  The Freelancers quickly ascertained that the leaks were from the piping into the vats and not the vats themselves.  Ana used detect magic to confirm nothing unusual was operating.
  • Tai noticed a cracked flagstone next to a wall, so the Freelancers followed it outside, where Ondar pointed out the grass was dying.  The Freelancers concluded the cause was burrowing creatures, and Glesni started to stomp on the ground in an attempt to draw them out.  Tai joined her.
  • 5 young bullettes emerged and chomped at the Freelancers, injuring Tai.  The Hasapis personnel hid in the vat rooms while the Freelancers dispatched the creatures.  Examination of the carcasses showed they were undernourished with thinner hide than usual, leading to speculation but no conclusion as to how this condition came about.
  • Tai and Ondar skinned the bullettes, and Zurito was mostly confident this was the source of the problem, but requested the Freelancer stay an extra night.
  • The night passed uneventfully with no further damage to the vats.  Zurito paid the Freelancers their fee of 250 eagles each and they returned to Ripa Daneo.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern early evening Oriotag, 1st prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • Materials sold to House Hadid:
    • 3 pristine young bulette hides worth 250 eagles each
    • 2 nice young bulette hides worth 200 eagles each
  • Mission pay: 250 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, assigned Dryali Tezbeth, Ondar Thundercaller, Tahu Tuala, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, and Quelenna to provide security for the Chaostag wedding of Gauradas Vangdondalor and Alicja Ghanjashka, cementing an alliance of their respective Houses.  Freelancer help had been requested by Talaa of House Vangdondalor.
  • The Freelancers took the day to fly down to the Vangdondalor estate in the crater, east of Flaxton, to familiarize themselves with the grounds and learn about expected disruptions.
  • They met with Musikaa of House Vangdondalor, who explained the guards could be trusted, the wedding guests not so much.  How naïve.  She escorted the Freelancers around the garden in which the wedding was to take place.
  • The Freelancers kept an overnight watch over that part of the grounds, during which nothing untoward happened.
  • The following day the Freelancers took up positions suitable for preventing or mitigating disruptions to the ceremony, to great success:
    • Quelenna and Dryali discovered a prepared prank with the chairs before it materialized.
    • Ondar, Tai, and Ana found pranksters hiding in the trees to disrupt the procession with eggs, and had these ejected.
    • Tahu discovered the dowry chest had been hidden and replaced with a false one full of angry bees.  After some searching, the actual dowry chest was located, but not brought out until the last minute.
  • After the wedding, which Doria assured me was a glorious affair, the Freelancers acted to prevent minor disruptions at the reception:
    • Tahu escorted out Bigm, a Pewter dragonborn, who was convinced he'd been meant to wed Alicja.
    • Ondar and Quelenna prevented ill-intentioned catering staff from bringing down the reception tent.
    • Dryali dispelled an animate object spell on the musician's instruments while Tai searched for the caster, to no avail.
  • Unfortunately for the wedding hosts, someone was apparently very hostile to this wedding, and attacked one of the musicians with a dart, recited bad poetry, then summoned a Hezrou demon in the middle of the celebrants.  The Freelancers slew it before the demon could harm anyone.
  • After the mess was cleared, the reception continued with no further disruptions.
  • The Freelancers stayed overnight and the next day collected their fee of 250 eagles.  Since the demon caused no harm, House Vangdondalor also paid a 100-eagle bonus.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern on Sieratag, 1st prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • Mission pay: 250 eagles each (minus 10% Freelancer cut), also 100 eagle bonus

  • Minji, Dominic Holyarm, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, Aranel Dumas-Nemaren, Damian Galanis, and Colt Cunningham were dispatched by Arnari Rilynn’sithek on the mission from Wymar Adelard to raid the press gang staging area, freeing any captives and capturing the bard who appeared to be running the operation.
  • Evvie, Laki, and Aleki had been posted to keep watch on the place for third watch and were relieved by this group.
  • After the Freelancers scoped the area, Aranel cast unseen servant inside the doors, and had it unlock the doors.  As a distraction, she told it to open as many doors as it could find.
  • Dominic wild shaped a spider to scout the cellar, and confirmed to Aranel via message there were 9 people from the press gang present, including the bard they wanted to capture.
  • The Freelancers entered and a difficult melee ensued, because the noise made by the unseen servant alerted the press gang to imminent attack.
  • Colt, Dominic, and Damian were badly injured in the melee, during which the bard and two compatriots fled.  The Freelancers learned his name was Helias.
  • One of the remaining press gang surrendered, and one perished; the Freelancers freed ten captives and stabilized four press gang they'd struck down.
  • After the melee the freed captives were sent to Wymar Adelard, and the Freelancers gathered what paperwork they could and brought back to Arnari.
  • Since the main objective of capturing Helias was not met, Arnari only paid 90 eagles for the fee, withholding the Freelancers Cut and the expected extra for capturing Helias.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.

  • Dominic Holyarm, Maghris Bloomfield the 18th, and Aranel Dumas-Nemaren accepted the mission from Wymar Adelard to track down the other press gang leader, despite only knowing that he was an attractive bard, probably based in eastern Trade District.
  • With no other leads, the Freelancers decided since they were looking for a bard, they should discover all the taverns in eastern Trade district that had music scheduled for the evening.
  • That evening, the Freelancers visited 4 different taverns, with no sign of the bard in question.  However at the fourth tavern, The Gull, Aranel noticed someone watching the airship crew patrons.
  • The Freelancers enjoy drinks at The Gull while watching the potential press gang members.  When one left, Dominic followed him and confirmed it.
  • Maghris uses his artificer abilities to apply a noxious smell to the boot of one of the press gang, making him easy to track by scent.
  • Two airship crew are captured by the press gang, and with Dominic shaped into an alley cat, the Freelancers easily follow them home to a cellar on the edge of Guildstrom.
  • The Freelancers staked out the building with the press gang, and contacted Arnari for instructions.  She sent Tobiah and Moulari to relieve them, and paid the mission fee upon their return.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern late evening on the same tag.
Loot
  • Mission pay: 100 eagles (10% to Freelancers)
