  • Kaelani, Ondar Thundercaller, Glesni Bōhatei, Mia Taumata, and Ka Kekoa accepted the ongoing mission from the wizard Gwidion to clean up altered wildlife along Pirates River.
  • The Freelancers travelled along the treeline, not the roads, arriving at the Pirates Dream river without incident on the third day.
  • The following day, the Freelancers travelled upriver in search of anything unusual.  After half a day of tracking, they discovered a group of 4 bears:  a mama and her 3 purple-winged offspring.
  • The Freelancers backtracked to find a giant elk.  They killed and butchered it, but Glesni was severely injured.
  • Kaelani, with Ka's help and advice, tried and failed to befriend the bears via clever use of giant elk steaks.  A fight resulted, during which the Freelancers subdued all 4 bears.
  •  The Freelancers tied up the bears, and Glesni searched the bear cave for items.
    • Acquired:  150 eagles in uncut gems and a driftglobe.
  • The Freelancers brought all 4 bears back to Cliffshadow without incident, which took twice as long as the prior travel.
  • Tomtom Evans agreed to assist with training the flying bears, which will go to Ondar, Mia, and Ka.
  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek paid 90 eagles each and disbursed the potion rewards:  oil of slipperiness (Kaelani), philter of love (Ondar), potion of hill giant strength (Mia), potion of thunder resistance (Ka), and potion of fire breath (Glesni).
  • Ondar drank his potion immediately, which caused some awkwardness for Arnari, but entertained the rest of us as they returned to Freelancers Tavern Nemostag, 2nd prime post-Fulcrum.

  • Manu, Kaelani, Ondar Thundercaller, and Glesni Bōhatei took the mission from Kaiea, Mayor of Cliffshadow, to track down the origin of the stuffed toys which appeared to be connected to a series of murders which had been taking out entire families.
  • The Freelancers visited the Mayor at his Office, and learned that another family had been murdered the night before in Trade District.  They hurried to the family's residence.
  • The human victims had been left undisturbed by the Guard, and next to the 8-year-old son was a stuffed toy cassowary, with blood on its beak.  The toy animated and attacked the Freelancers, but was smote down by Kaelani, revealing it to be a fiend.  Manu determined the toy had been imbued with black blood.
  • The Guard sent for a cleric, and Jeanah from Church of Ua arrived.  They cast speak with dead on the young son, and determined the doll had called to him.
  • Armed with this knowledge, a Guard was sent to the Mayor advising him to start collecting all such dangerous toys.
  • The Freelancers and Jeanah went to the other victims from the Trade District and cast speak with dead on the young daughter, who recognized the toy from the young son, and also advised the fiend had a "mama" in the south part of the Trade District.
  • The Freelancers started searching, and Ondar noticed an old human woman with the cloth scraps similar to the toys.  They followed her to a house and, peering in, determined she was the source of the stuffed toys.
  • Glesni returned to Freelancers Tavern to inform Arnari Rilynn'sethik, who declared the original mission had been fulfilled and paid out 180 eagles each.
  • Arnari negotiated halting the toys as a new mission with Mayor Kaiea.  Hikawera and Meurig joined this mission and returned to the house with Glesni.
  • Upon arrival at the house, Meurig determined there were four fiends therein.
  • The Freelancers entered the house, slew the fiends, and captured the old woman, who had surprising abilities.  They discovered a shrine to the Cassowary of Murder in the house, with a tranche of demon blood.
    • Acquired:  10 stars, 105 eagles, 500 cats, 45 pebbles, 2 bloodstone, 1 chalcedony, 1 citrine, 3 jasper, 1 zircon, +1 dagger, +1 shield, cloak of the bat, figurine of wondrous power: Silver Raven, gloves of thievery, wand of web
  • The Church of Ua took custody of the old woman, and with the Freelancers, cleansed the house of the toys and the demon blood.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern the same evening, and Arnari paid out 225 eagles each.

  • Quelenna, Tai Ho'onani, and Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Ondar Thundercaller, Glesni Bōhatei, and Mia Taumata accepted a mission from Kaiea, Mayor of Cliffshadow, to investigate a series of murders which had been taking out entire families.
  • The Freelancers visited the Mayor at his Office, and learned the facts of the matter from him, and what had been done already.  They obtained the keys and headed to the location of the most recent murders in the Trade District.
  • The group managed to get lost en route, and were injured when attacked by rats.  They stopped at Church of Ua for healing.
  • After investigating two of the murder scenes, the Freelancers noticed a pattern in the murders which centered on a child between 6 and 9 years old.
  • They started asking the neighbours, and children told them the child's personality had changed after acquiring a stuffed toy dubbed their "New Best Friend."
  • After reporting this information to Mayor Kaiea, the Freelancers were paid their fee of 150 eagles, and informed that the Mayor would want Freelancers Guild to determine the origin of the toys.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern the same evening.

Clear Giant Spider Nest

  • Cathance Lobdhain, Hikawera, Osric Torunn, Tai Ho'onani, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, and Ondar Thundercaller accepted a mission from Taleisin of the Orderly Stones Monastery to clear out the nest of horrible giant spiders that Freelancers had discovered on prior mission for the monastery.
  • Travelling by flying mounts, the Freelancers arrived early evening the same day at Orderly Stones.
  • The next morning, Freelancers tried to plan an assault on the spider nest, but disagreed over weapons or fire as the method of choice.  In the end they go to the place of the nest of spiders.
  • Cathance was overcome upon seeing one of the giant spiders and tried to set it on fire.  She missed and set the webs on fire instead, obviating their prior disagreement.
  • The Freelancers slew four horrible giant spiders.  Ondar confirmed that those were all the spiders.
  • After Ana and Hikawera purged the nearby cave with fire, Tai checked it out to discover the spiders had been collecting shiny objects and trained to gather them at a makeshift shrine to The Snake therein.  The Freelancers gathered the items and headed back to Orderly Stones, where Taleisin paid their fee of 150 eagles each.  
    • Acquired:  142 eagles, 247 cats, 139 pebbles, single silver earring with 2 obsidian (circle and dangly drop), hairpin made from bone with turquoise head on the pin, silver bracelet with snake scales, bronze arm band with a sleeping honey badger in copper and silver, a small mirror set in a wooden frame carved and painted like ivy, +1 vicious scimitar, necklace of adaptation, Nature's cloak.
  • After spending another night at Orderly Stones Monastery, the Freelancers flew back to Cliffshadow.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Vrontag, 1st prime post-Fulcrum.

  • 3 owl gryphon yearlings and 1 golden eagle gryphon yearling added to the stables.  Glim Fibblestib Maekkelferce Murnig, the Freelancers' gryphon stable master, took charge of care and minimal training for the yearlings.
  • Thus did Arnari Rilynn'sithek, leader of the Duquesne Freelancers, let Damakaios know to expect a transfer of a handful of her crew at some point in the next prime.  Let the record reflect that he took the news privately and his reaction is unknown.

  • Torinn Myastan, Khalid Malone, and Glesni Bōhatei accepted a mission from Taleisin of the Orderly Stones Monastery to track down & dispatch another mountain lion which had been attacking their goatherds. 
  • Travelling by flying mounts, the Freelancers arrived late afternoon the same day at Orderly Stones.  They had been beset by inclement weather.
  • The next morning, the weather prevented them from leaving until almost midday.
  • The Freelancers flew to the meadow Taleisin had indicated as the location of the attacks, and quickly found tracks.  They followed the tracks to a cave obviously inhabited by a large cat.
  • The Freelancers attacked the large cat to discover three big cougars, the largest being the mama cougar.  They slew all the cougars, but were injured in the process.
  • Investigating the nearby cave, the Freelancers found evidence that the cougars had been trained by kobolds.
  • After skinning the cats for their pelts, they deduced there are likely more caves prepared to attack Orderly Stones.  The Freelancers then flew to one such place to discover giant spider webs, which Glesni burned.
  • The Freelancers returned to Orderly Stones with the news of mountain lion demise and imminent spider attack.  Taleisin paid their fee of 400 eagle bounty for each cougar head, and gave them two mission requests to bring back to Freelancers Tavern.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Kenostag, last prime post-Tumultuous.

  • Cathance Lobdhain, Hikawera, Quelenna, Osric Torunn, Tai Ho'onani, and Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana} were sent to Stormhaven to capture the notorious Green Mais-Quand, who had freed Jamie from the Skyguard and arranged for the Blue Bandanna gang to beat up Freelancers.
  • Travelling by flying mounts, the Freelancers arrived on the evening of the third day without incident in Stormhaven.
  • The Freelancers took rooms at The Safe Harbour inn, where Green was seen before.  They listened around the tavern but heard nothing about Green, until Ana told the others where to find him the next afternoon.
  • The next morning, the Freelancers informed Elena Catracha, captain of the Stormhaven Skyguard outpost, of their intention, and asked about known henchmen.
  • Later, Tai, Ana, and Hikawera waited inside The Stone & Arms, where they expected Green to show up.  Cathance, Quelenna, and Osric waited in the nearby public square, whiling away the time playing dragonchess.
  • Once Green arrived at The Stone & Arms to conduct business, Ana approached him with an offer of information to sell.  He was interested and Hikawera used suggestion to get Green to accompany them out of the tavern.
  • The Freelancers kept Green subdued while slaying 4 out of 5 bodyguards in the middle of the street.  Hikawera was badly injured in the brief fight.
  • The Skyguard took custody of Green, sent a squad to clean up the mess in the tunnels, and let the Freelancers retain what was removed from Green and his bodyguards.  
    • Acquired:  108 eagles, thieves' tools, ring of warmth, cloak of elvenkind, bracers of archery.
  • The Freelancers took three days to travel back to Cliffshadow.  Arnari Rilynn'sithek paid them their fee of 200 eagles each, and Tomtom Evans paid them 1500 eagles for the bracers of archery, which were emplaced in the Freelancers strongroom.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Rochtag, last prime post-Tumultuous.

House Ha'aheo's Stables Shenanigans

  • Kaikoa, Glesni Bōhatei, Ondar Thundercaller, and Ka Kekoa were assigned by Tomtom Evans to the mission from Hanohano of House Ha'aheao to investigate and halt mysterious shenanigans afflicting the House Ha'aheo pegasus stables.
  • The Freelancers took two hours to walk to the stables and meet with Hanohano.  Over lunch, he filled in the details of what was happening, then showed them the location of the most recent event.  
  • On investigation, Kaikoa realized there were goose bite marks on some of the tack.
  • When Kaikoa announced his realization, geese apparated in and disapparated when struck.  They stole various items from Hanohano and the Freelancers.  When the last goose disapparated, everyone turned invisible for a minute.
  • The Freelancers informed Hanohano he had angered the Goose, and urged him to reflect upon any changes to the stable environs.  He informed them about a new paddock the House was clearing.
  • The Freelancers checked out the intended paddock to find an ancient shrine of the Goose.  Kaikoa identified recent damage done to the shrine by House Ha'aheo's work, and suggested they put it back together then sabotage it for the next user of it, as befits the god of Sabotage.
  • Upon completion of their effort the Goose itself appeared and rewarded them by increasing their height randomly.
  • The Freelancers advised Hanohano the problem was solved, but that area was lost to any use as a paddock.  Hanohano paid the Freelancers fee of 150 eagles each and put them up for the night.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Kenostag, 3rd prime post-Tumultuous.
