  • Dryali, Tahu, and Tuala decided to test their mettle against the trap designed by Garth Nimblefingers of the Academy of Magic.
  • Garth's trap was setup underground below the Academy of Magic, and was decorated in Quinametzin runes.
  • Dryali shattered the bladed device in the first part of the trap, after Tuala's web failed to contain it.
  • Tahu's quick thinking ensured everyone survived the smashing pillars in the second part of the trap, after Dryali got smashed flat.
  • Tuala's arcane knowledge enabled him to dismantle the Rune of Fear in the third part of the trap.  Then Dryali and Tahu disposed of the small stone golem which subsequently materialized.
  • After a quick post mortem on how Garth's trap failed to stop the Freelancers, the dean paid the Freelancers their fee of 100 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers the same day.

  • Dryali Tezbeth, Torinn Myastan, and Khalid Malone accepted a mission from Odo of House Aldous to acquire more wild hippogryph eggs from the Haven Hills to augment his breeding lines.
  • The Freelancers gathered the equipment they'd need and traveled to Haven without incident.
  • In Haven, they got a room with a fireplace at The Local Flavour, and sought out word of wild hippogryphs in the taproom there.
  • The Freelancers searched southwest of Haven for hippogryphs, based on taproom gossip.  They found a nest and knocked out the two adult hippogryphs, then harvested 10 eggs and returned to Haven.
  • The next day, the Freelancers searched south east of Haven for destrier hippogryphs, based on more taproom gossip.  They were surprised by three of them, one of whom nearly slew Khalid.  Dryali healed Khalid and the Freelancers knocked out these hippogryphs as well.
  • Further searching found their nest, and the Freelancers harvested 11 eggs from it.
  • The return trip to Cliffshadow was slow, to avoid damaging 21 hippogryph eggs, but without incident.
  • Odo of House Aldous was pleased with the eggs, and rewarded the Freelancers with two geldings and 320 eagles.  Khalid and Torinn each received a gelding and 60 eagles, and Dryali got 200 eagles.  Odo also paid Arnari the Freelancers' Cut.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow Chaostag, 2nd prime post-Harvest.

  • After repeated attempts to entice Freelancers into an unvetted retribution mission, Leticia had a verbal altercation with Tuala and Cathance, then stormed out of the building.  Tuala, Cathance, and Meurig decided to trail her and discover the truth of her tale.
  • The Freelancers tracked Leticia all the way to the blue bandanna people, whom she was claiming to hire them to fight.  Instead she turned out to be their leader.
  • After a brief fight, three thugs were knocked out, and Leticia was compelled to sit out by suggestion.
  • Meurig returned to the Freelancers Tavern to request Nohea Tasi's assistance, and retrieve some rope to restrain the fallen.
  • Cathance and Tuala stabilized the downed thugs and searched them for clues.  They discovered the thugs have 181 eagles, far more than one expects on such types.
  • Nohea bound the unconscious thugs and helped the others question Leticia, who was apparently hired by a halfling man to beat up Freelancers.  The Freelancers persuaded her to work with them to help find out more about the halfling man.
  • The Freelancers returned to the tavern and reported the sequence of events to Arnari Rilynn’sithek.  Arnari noted the halfling's description and timing of Leticia's hiring aligned with the halfling trailing the Freelancers in Stormhaven who were assisting Sonya Drogo as of Kenostag, 3rd prime post-Planting.

  • The Freelancers took berths on the mechanical airship Niekdekort.  The airship ran into inclement weather, causing grievous airsickness for Tahu and Terrance.
  • Arrived at Waypoint Superb on Chaostag, last prime post-Calm.
  • Upon arrival at Waypoint Superb, Cathance and Fine Branch spoke to the stablemaster about housing their mounts, and how people laying over occupy themselves.  Terrance and Tahu help with offloading the Niekdekort's cargo, thereby getting a good look at the transshipping warehouse interior.
  • The Freelancers got rooms at the inn, gaining insight into local rhythms from the innkeeper, Cybelle.
  • That evening, Fine Branch used locate object to confirm Daystar lotion present in the warehouse.  Terrance picked the locks so they could discover its disposition: some had transshipped to Waypoint Alarm, some was on the shelf, and some was missing.
  • In the tavern that evening, Cathance accidentally struck a human with a dart, who turned out to be a Daystar worshipper.  Fine Branch planted a ball bearing on his compatriot in order to track them down later.
  • The following day, Fine Branch tracked down four Daystar worshippers making use of lotion purloined from the warehouse.  Based on what Fine Branch saw, the Freelancers concluded these four were not proselytizing and decided to leave them alone.
  • The Freelancers later learned the names of the four Daystar worshippers, then returned to Cliffshadow on the wind elemental airship Salvadorsanchez.
  • Once in Cliffshadow, the Freelancers informed Adrian Bryant of the Church of Storms the substance of their discoveries on Waypoint Superb, and collected their fee of 150 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow Oriotag, last prime post-Calm.

  • Dryali Tezbeth, Hikawera, Kaelani, and Meurig accepted the mission from the wizard Gwydion to clean up any aberrations on Pirates Dream river stemming from his alchemical polluting ways.
  • The Freelancers journeyed to Lakeview without incident, and confirmed with Mayor Popoki that no further aberrations had appeared in Mossey Lake.  They checked the north shore on their way to Pirates Dream river, and found nothing.
  • Upon reaching Pirates Dream river, Hikawera and Meurig spotted some froggoths, and Hikawera killed them with shatter.  Three chiminimerae rose up from the reeds and attacked them, and were slain after a brief but nasty fight.  Hikawera kept the corpse of one for later, since the Freelancers did not recognize the creature.
  • Hikawera burned the corpses of the slain aberrations, but failed to stay upwind, forcing the Freelancers to make camp early.  In the predawn hour during Hikawera's watch, an owlbear attacked their camp and was slain.
  • The Freelancers checked the rest of the length of Pirates Dream river, on both banks, and found no more aberrations.
  • The Freelancers journeyed back to Cliffshadow cross-country, and on the first day were attacked by two giant elk, which almost killed Dryali and Hikawera.  The elk were slain and butchered as much as practical.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow Petraag, 3rd prime post-Calm.
  • Arnari Rilynn’sithek paid 45 eagles each and disbursed the potion rewards:  oil of slipperiness (Hikawera and Dryali), potion of growth (Kaelani), and potion of water breathing (Meurig).
  • Arnari had never seen a chiminimera and I was called in to identify it for the puzzled Freelancers.
Loot
  • Mission pay:  50 eagles each (10% to Freelancers), 2 oil of slipperiness (Hikawera and Dryali), potion of growth (Kaelani), and potion of water breathing (Meurig).

  • Thomas "Tomtom" Evans, Duquesne Freelancers Guild deputy, departed Freelancers in Cliffshadow for a goodwill visit to Three Rivers.
  • Tomtom, flying on his manticore Oskar, took two days to get there, and stayed at The Mule's Rest.
  • The first day there, Tomtom met with Mayor Ethan, reminding him while the Freelancers were mercenary, they did not take kindly to having their members entrapped for gladiator slavery.  He noted their ongoing work currently was including removing hazards weakening the Mossey Lake dam.
  • Tomtom also visited the constabulary and assured himself the four hunters were awaiting trial.
  • The following day Tomtom visited the Bardic Conservatory, and picked up messages for Arnari Rilynn’sithek and Julian at Freelancers Tavern in Cliffshadow.
  • Tomtom departed on the third day, flying back to Cliffshadow.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow Chaostag, 3rd prime post-Calm.
