  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, assigned Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Nix Frostshaper, and Terrance to investigate the sponsor of the demon summoning at the Vangdondalor/Ghanjashka wedding earlier in the prime.  Freelancer help had been requested by Talaa Vangdondalor and Victor Ghanjashka.
  • The Freelancers flew in inclement weather to the Vangdondalor estate at which the wedding was held, and after stating their purpose, were guested overnight.
  • The following day, the Freelancers inspected the tents and other equipment used for the celebration for signs of magical tampering, and found nothing.
  • The Freelancers also interviewed Musicaa, first daughter of House Vangdondalor, and learned about this very interesting device at the estate which monitored for magic.  They explored the device's limitations and ascertained the woman who had recited the poetry was not, actually, the demon.  She mentioned to the Freelancers that House Drogo of Cliffshadow considered Ghanjashka to be competitors; they also learned that the alliance was initially to be concluded by Musicaa marrying Patrink Ghanjashka, but he fled the skylith.
  • After their interview with Musicaa the Freelancers returned to Ripa Daneo.
  • The next day, the Freelancers paid a visit to Ghanjashka Villa, and interviewed Artem Ghanjashka, first son of the House.  From Artem they learned that Patrink remained off-skylith and bitter, so was not involved.  He also confirmed House Drogo of Cliffshadow on Duquesne stood the most to gain from the incident, but had at least one member in attendance at the wedding.
  • From Ghanjashka Villa the Freelancers then visited the House Drogo offices near Ripa Daneo docks, and spoke to Kalic Drogo, who had attended the wedding.  Kalic was apparently still shocked by what had happened, but given his propensity to people watch, they ascertained that other than the woman who recited the poetry, he'd not noticed any other unexpected guests.
  • Upon reporting their disappointing findings to Naranjos, the Freelancers were paid a partial mission fee of 170 eagles (minus the Freelancers Cut).
Loot
  • Mission pay 170 eagles each (minus 10% Freelancers cut)

  • Naranjos Lafloriance, Ripa Daneo Freelancers Guild deputy, assigned Ondar Thundercaller, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, and Glesni Bōhatei to investigate problems in the vat rooms at the Hasapis Winery.  Freelancer help had been requested by Niccore Hasapis.
  • The Freelancers used flying mounts and spent the rest of the day travelling to Hasapis Winery in inclement weather.
  • That evening the Freelancers dined with the Hasapis and learned that the vats were springing inexplicable leaks, and artificers which had been brought in to repair and examine the problem were stumped.  The leaks were happening at random times, so a watch was unnecessary and the rooms could be examined during the day.
  • The next day, Zurito Hasapis took the Freelancers to the vat room with the most problems.  The Freelancers quickly ascertained that the leaks were from the piping into the vats and not the vats themselves.  Ana used detect magic to confirm nothing unusual was operating.
  • Tai noticed a cracked flagstone next to a wall, so the Freelancers followed it outside, where Ondar pointed out the grass was dying.  The Freelancers concluded the cause was burrowing creatures, and Glesni started to stomp on the ground in an attempt to draw them out.  Tai joined her.
  • 5 young bullettes emerged and chomped at the Freelancers, injuring Tai.  The Hasapis personnel hid in the vat rooms while the Freelancers dispatched the creatures.  Examination of the carcasses showed they were undernourished with thinner hide than usual, leading to speculation but no conclusion as to how this condition came about.
  • Tai and Ondar skinned the bullettes, and Zurito was mostly confident this was the source of the problem, but requested the Freelancer stay an extra night.
  • The night passed uneventfully with no further damage to the vats.  Zurito paid the Freelancers their fee of 250 eagles each and they returned to Ripa Daneo.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern early evening Oriotag, 1st prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • Materials sold to House Hadid:
    • 3 pristine young bulette hides worth 250 eagles each
    • 2 nice young bulette hides worth 200 eagles each
  • Mission pay: 250 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, assigned Dryali Tezbeth, Ondar Thundercaller, Tahu Tuala, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, and Quelenna to provide security for the Chaostag wedding of Gauradas Vangdondalor and Alicja Ghanjashka, cementing an alliance of their respective Houses.  Freelancer help had been requested by Talaa of House Vangdondalor.
  • The Freelancers took the day to fly down to the Vangdondalor estate in the crater, east of Flaxton, to familiarize themselves with the grounds and learn about expected disruptions.
  • They met with Musikaa of House Vangdondalor, who explained the guards could be trusted, the wedding guests not so much.  How naïve.  She escorted the Freelancers around the garden in which the wedding was to take place.
  • The Freelancers kept an overnight watch over that part of the grounds, during which nothing untoward happened.
  • The following day the Freelancers took up positions suitable for preventing or mitigating disruptions to the ceremony, to great success:
    • Quelenna and Dryali discovered a prepared prank with the chairs before it materialized.
    • Ondar, Tai, and Ana found pranksters hiding in the trees to disrupt the procession with eggs, and had these ejected.
    • Tahu discovered the dowry chest had been hidden and replaced with a false one full of angry bees.  After some searching, the actual dowry chest was located, but not brought out until the last minute.
  • After the wedding, which Doria assured me was a glorious affair, the Freelancers acted to prevent minor disruptions at the reception:
    • Tahu escorted out Bigm, a Pewter dragonborn, who was convinced he'd been meant to wed Alicja.
    • Ondar and Quelenna prevented ill-intentioned catering staff from bringing down the reception tent.
    • Dryali dispelled an animate object spell on the musician's instruments while Tai searched for the caster, to no avail.
  • Unfortunately for the wedding hosts, someone was apparently very hostile to this wedding, and attacked one of the musicians with a dart, recited bad poetry, then summoned a Hezrou demon in the middle of the celebrants.  The Freelancers slew it before the demon could harm anyone.
  • After the mess was cleared, the reception continued with no further disruptions.
  • The Freelancers stayed overnight and the next day collected their fee of 250 eagles.  Since the demon caused no harm, House Vangdondalor also paid a 100-eagle bonus.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern on Sieratag, 1st prime post-Tumultuous.
Loot
  • Mission pay: 250 eagles each (minus 10% Freelancer cut), also 100 eagle bonus

  • The Freelancers provided extra security in the public tavern until Fysitag, last prime post-Tumultuous.  No extraordinary threats to the Villa or patrons appeared.
  • Damakaios paid 250 eagles each for this duty, which must have been some threat, although he never did disclose what it was.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Ondar Thundercaller, Nix Frostshaper, Tai Ho'onani, and Quelenna to backtrack the clockwork owlbear that had been attacking Bati Kasabasi. Freelancer help had been requested by Mayor Thruxl of Bati Kasabasi.
  • The Freelancers flew to Bati Kasabasi to check in with Thruxl, who was disappointed at how long it had taken Freelancers to followup on this mission.  He confirmed for them no further attacks had taken place, and the Freelancers promised to recover stolen goods if they could.
  • After overnighting in Bati Kasabasi, the Freelancers easily relocated the cave opening used by the owlbear construct, and entered the cave system under the western Rim.
  • The Freelancers followed the signs of the owlbear constructs for three days, after which they encountered signs of ancient dwarven ruins, and the path splitting many ways.
  • Nix sent her familiar Mercury to investigate ahead, to determine the most useful way.  Mercury quickly discovered 3 plate-armour constructs similar to those plaguing the Vathia Estia Tunnels last year, as well as apparent piles of supplies; but no sign of any owlbear constructs.
  • The Freelancers prepared for combat, then Dryali cast shatter on one of the constructs.  The Freelancers quickly dispatched two of them.
  • The melee grew more interesting when the wayward owlbear construct joined, and two mechanical ants attacked from under the floor.  A punch golem burst out of the wall, attacking Tai and Quelenna and gravely injuring the latter.
  • Ondar administered a potion to heal Quelenna and the Freelancers defeated the constructs.  They quickly determined the apparent supplies were a ruse intended to trap the unwary and trigger attacks.
  • The Freelancers gathered the construct parts and returned to Bati Kasabasi in 3 days' time, whereupon the Mayor paid their mission fee of 250 eagles.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern on Nemostag, 3rd prime post-Periastron.
Loot
  • 3 suits battered plate armour and parts worth 1500 eagles – sold
  • Clockwork owlbear parts worth 450 eagles – sold
  • Two defunct mechanical ants wirht 300 eagles – sold

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Fine Branch and Cathance Lobdhain to investigate Waypoint Tickler for Daystar lotion and cult activity. Freelancer help had been requested by Tempest Addis of the Ripa Daneo Church of Storms.
  • The Freelancers took passage on the Traviscarter, a fire elemental airship captained by Anjanette Zanthra Orpen Albafen, a Maker gnome.  They travelled for 14 tags through clear skies, with a stopover at Waypoint Whim, to arrive at Waypoint Tickler on the very day of Periastron.
  • As the Traviscarter approached the waypoint docks, the airship was ambushed by two air elementals bent on chaos and destruction.  The Freelancers vanquished them, but not before Fine Branch was gravely injured and Cathance was punted off the airship.
  • Conversation with Oparapa Jardin, the Holder dwarf waypoint stationmaster, revealed that the Waypoint had already dispatched a messenger to request Freelancer help.  The Freelancers explained they had arrived in response to that request and collected the mission fee of 200 eagles each.
  • The Freelancers, not having observed any signs of Daystar cult activity, withdrew to their rooms, where Fine Branch sent to Damakaios about the encounter with the air elementals and gave notice that the mission request was inbound.
  • The next morning, at the request of Oparapa, the Freelancers scouted the south side of the waypoint in search of air elementals.  They also searched for Daystar cultists or lotion, but Fine Branch's locate object showed it was only in the warehouse.
  • That afternoon, the Freelancers were ready and waiting when the next airship arrived at the waypoint, but the arrival had no troubles from air elementals or otherwise.
  • The Freelancers helped unload, which gave Fine Branch an opportunity to run detect magic and locate the crate of Daystar lotion in the warehouse.  They asked the quartermaster, a Cloud elf named Amara, about it, and she noted it was not on any manifest.  Cathance persuaded Amara to allow them to remove the crate and thus neutralize the dangers it posed to the waypoint.
  • 4 tags later – 3 local days – the Freelancers departed Waypoint Tickler on the Myriostos, an air elemental airship captained by Kamwangi, a quinametzin.  Travel to Ripa Daneo took 14 tags through chaotic weather but was otherwise uneventful.
  • Damakaios paid Cathance and Fine Branch 225 eagles each for the Church of Storms mission, and collected the Freelancers Cut of 20 eagles each for the Waypoint mission.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Rochtag, 2nd prime post-Periastron.
Loot
  • 2 vials of sparkly air elemental remains, worth 100 eagles each
  • A full crate of Daystar lotion.
  • Mission pay (Waypoint air elemental problem): 200 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)
  • Mission pay (Daystar lotion investigation): 250 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, assigned Fine Branch, Cathance Lobdhain, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Nix Frostshaper, and Kaikoa to track down the individual apparently responsible for the deaths of several monks at the Tranquil Crossing Monastery.  Freelancer help had been requested by High Abbot Grigorio.
  • The Freelancers flew to Tranquil Crossing, arriving mid-day.  They confirmed with the high abbot and one of the monks that no more deaths had occurred.  After asking about nearby settlements, they departed towards the south & east.
  • After a couple hours the Freelancers located some herds under the watchful eyes of hobgoblins on horseback.  From them, they learned that the hobgoblins' village, Krowa, had been afflicted by a strange malaise that worsened at night.
  • The Freelancers followed a herdsman to Krowa.  The headwoman, Rek, explained that they'd had deaths and allowed Fine Branch to examine one of the sick villagers.  Ana cast detect magic and sensed necromatic energy on the ill hobgoblins.
  • Fine Branch cast divination to consult directly with The Cat, who informed her the "Silver Scion" is responsible for these deaths.  Fine Branch and Nix then used augury to determine the correct direction to search.
  • The evening was nigh, so Cathance and Ana urged the Freelancers to stay and not search, reasoning the source of the sickness would come to Krowa.  The Freelancers followed their advice and sure enough, shadows arrived in the middle of the night.
  • After a brief fight, the Freelancers destroyed the shadows, but a Silver dragonborn on a peregrine gryphon shot arrows from above.  The fight woke up the village, and the Freelancers explained their discoveries.
  • Since the gryphon was too fast to pursue, Ana cast invisibility on her familiar Hawkie to chase this miscreant.  Hawkie pursued the knight until spotted and then was taken out by a wild hippogryph.
  • The Freelancers kept watch in Krowa an extra night.  The shadows did not return, and the sick villagers recovered, so the Freelancers departed.
  • The Freelancers flew to where Hawkie left off pursuit, searching and failing to find any clues.  They returned to Tranquil Crossing, and Grigorio paid their mission fee of 250 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Rochtag, 3rd prime post-Cat.

  • Mission pay:  250 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)
