  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Terrance, Tahu Tuala, Tuala, Hikawera, and Quelenna to root out the constructs that had been disrupting traffic in the Vathia Estia tunnel road.  Freelancer help had been requested by Stathou Ragovir of the Truetunnel clan, the dverg liaison for the Vathia Estia Tunnel Authority.
  • The Freelancers visited Stathou at the Ripa Daneo clanhouse for the Truetunnel clan, to learn that these constructs had been raiding the caravans, roughly every other prime, and goods were missing.
  • The Freelancers went to the tunnel staging area, and secured an agreement to escort a small caravan led by a Rock sagani named Keoni.
  • Keoni's caravan reached Odikistas with no incident and stopped there to rest.  Before departing for Vathia Estia, Keoni added 2 more wagons to the caravan.
  • The caravan had travelled roughly half a day when three constructs descended from the tunnel ceiling to raid their goods.
  • The Freelancers battled the constructs, but had not considered how to discover where the goods had been taken.  Their hesitation resulted in injuries, especially to Hikawera and Quelenna, but the Freelancers prevailed, wrecking the constructs.
  • Inspection of the constructs' armour, the ceiling where they'd hidden, the side tunnels, revealed nothing beyond a possible maker's mark on the ornate armour.  The Freelancers loaded the armour on Keoni's wagons and continued on to Vathia Estia, which they reached that evening.
  • In Vathia Estia, the Freelancers part ways with Keoni.  They spent that evening and part of the next day trying to track down the maker's mark, but learned nothing.
  • The Freelancers found another caravan to escort to Ripa Daneo, and checked the tunnels along the way.  Beyond finding other hiding places for the constructs, they learned nothing new.
  • On return to Freelancers Tavern, they were paid 225 eagles each from Damakaios, who did not recognize the armour work.  Neither did I, nor did Alvyn Ricker Nackle.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Chaostag, last prime post-Apastron.
Loot
  • Three sets of ornate plate armour + longsword + heater shield
  • Mission pay:  250 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, convinced Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, and Terrance to take the mission from House Amabel to start culling the fauna from that harpy-infested villa they purchased, to increase its habitability.
  • The three Freelancers walked over to the villa and immediately tangled with four harpies.  Dryali and Terrance were charmed, but Fine Branch acted immediately to snap them out of it.
  • They slew two of the harpies, but the others withdrew to the villa atrium.
  • With the harpies out of the way, the Freelancers flew over the villa's atrium.  They spotted no harpies, but did see an overgrown garden, replete with piles of bones and shark teeth.  They heard as many as 4 more harpies.
  • The Freelancers returned, maybe an hour after they left, and reported their findings to Damakaios.  He took notes, of course; and paid them 225 eagles, their fee minus the Freelancers Cut.

  • Arnari Rilynn'sithek, leader of the Duquesne Freelancers, forwarded to Damakaios a mission from Church of Storms to travel to Waypoint Puissant and determine, quietly, the disposition of the Daystar cultist lotion that had been shipped there.
    • Nyls Arendi had already forwarded the records of Freelancer dealings with this cult, and by the Pachyderm, this cult is the most uncouth heresy I've heard of in decades.
  • Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Tahu Tuala, and Tuala accepted this mission with a grimness that hasn't marked their prior behaviour in Ripa Daneo.  Their explanations added some flavour to the rather dry records Nyls had forwarded.
  • The Freelancers travelled for 6 days to Waypoint Puissant on the Paquet, a mechanical airship from Nadezhda.  Travel was mostly without incident, although they hit a storm on the 4th day.
  • The day they arrived the Freelancers did not find any lotion, but did observe personnel who might be part of this cult.  Fine Branch scouted on her hippogryph and found a cave in use.
  • The following day the Freelancers checked out the cave.  Tahu snuck in and found it in use by these cultists, and two minotaurs in gold-chased gear.
  • Unwilling to confront the group in the cave, the Freelancers returned to the Waypoint station by a circuitous route and spend the rest of the day observing the cultists they could see.  The leader, a Wild elf named Buttercup, was absent.
  • That evening the Freelancers headed back towards the cave to confront the minotaurs, but went astray in the woods.
  • Fine Branch, flying above, spotted trackers, so they decided to camp in a clearing and wait for an attack.
  • 2 minotaurs and 4 Daystar cultists attacked the Freelancers.  They appeared to have divine magic: the minotaurs had some sort of smite on their blades, and Buttercup had spiritual weapon.
  • The Freelancers killed the minotaurs, 2 heretics including Buttercup, and captured the other 2.  Interrogation of the captives merely confirmed Buttercup was leader.
  • The minotaurs had half-plate (1500gp total) and nice greataxes (120gp), and Buttercup's gaudy vest was worth 100gp.
  • Investigating the cave revealed a large amount of hoarded wealth, as well as 2 crates of mostly-used Daystar lotion, and a golden shrine.  The Freelancers waited til dawn to return.
  • The Waypoint station personnel were understandably displeased to learn about the minotaurs, and the Freelancers had to reveal themselves as part of the explanation.
  • The Daystar cultists incriminated themselves in short order and the rest of the station personnel assisted the Freelancers in clearing out any Daystar paraphernalia and learning what they could about the Daystar lotion disposition.
  • After 5 days on the Waypoint, the Freelancers returned to Commerce on the Paquet bringing the two captives and a minotaur head, as well as the Daystar "shrine" and other valuables from the cave.
    • They also brought two barrels of Dwarven stout brewed on the Waypoint.
  • Travel was six days without incident.
  • Upon debarking from the Paquet at Ripa Daneo, Storm Guards took custody of the two captives, and the Daystar shrine.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern late morning, Chaostag, 3rd prime post-Planting.
  • Once back in the tavern, they delivered the minotaur head to Damakaios, who paid the Freelancers 225 eagles each, and then immediately sent to the taxidermist.
Loot
  • Coin:  2376 eagles in assorted coins
  • Extremely gaudy daystar long vest (100 eagles' worth of topaz & sunstones)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, selected Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Terrance, Tahu Tuala, and Tuala to accompany himself to the House Hadid Garden Party, post-Planting.  Freelancer security had been requested by the House and naturally Damakaios would not pass up the opportunity to attend.
  • They spent the next day ensuring they would be properly dressed for the occasion, with varying levels of success.  Fine Branch opted for scandalous, using disguise self to appear as a naked black nekomata.
  • They also realized they had been expected to have learned something about the various houses of Ripa Daneo, and belatedly tried to learn a bit about House Hadid.  They did not ask me, but learned enough to make do.
  • That evening, Damakaios rented a carriage for transport to the villa.  Upon arrival, the Freelancers circulated, looking for trouble without being ostentatious.
  • Fine Branch found unexpectedly poisonous plants in the atrium using detect poison and disease, and Dryali informed the others they were assassin vines from the Nadezhda jungle: ambulatory and very dangerous.
  • Tahu announced to the party that the Freelancers had prepared an entertainment, causing the crush to back away; then they engaged the assassin vines.
  • Somehow Terrance provoked one of the central trees into becoming ambulatory and attacking her, then Damakaios!
  • The Freelancers dispatched the assassin vines and the tree, adding enough flourishes to convince much of the crowd it was just a show.  That effort was belied by the tree, which bit Damakaios during the altercation.
  • House Hadid calmed the crowd and played it off as a planned spectacle, of course.  Afterward, the House elders, unpleased, let Damakaios know they were likely to contract with Freelancers to investigate the origin of these circumstances.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern well after midnight the same evening.
Loot
  • Mission pay:  300 eagles (10% cut to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Terrance, Tahu Tuala, and Tuala to the Hasapis Vineyards, which had workers go missing in the vineyards.  Freelancer help had been requested by Niccore Hasapis, Head of House.
  • Since most of them lacked flying mounts, the Freelancers took the better part of  the day to travel to Hasapis Vineyards, and amazingly got there without incident.
  • Zurito Hasapis met with the Freelancers and provided details about the missing workers.  He put them up for the night, after agreeing to accompany them to the vineyards where the workers had gone missing.
  • The following day, the Freelancers escorted Zurito to his eastern vineyards.  There they were attacked by four giant centipedes, which they easily slew.  Tahu wisely levitated Zurito to keep him out of harm's way.
  • Attracted by the commotion, two large wyrms also attacked the unprepared Freelancers, killing Tuala and swallowing Dryali.  Fine Branch used revivify on Tuala, and the Freelancers, with Zurito's help, slew the wyrms.
  • Afterwards, Fine Branch located where the vineyard workers were killed.  Dryali checked the wyrms for unusual origin, finding none apart from appearing on the skylith surface.
  • The Freelancers spent the day checking for any more wyrm sign, but found none.
  • They enjoyed another night of Hasapis hospitality, during which Zurito paid them the fee of 250 eagles each, and returned to Ripa Daneo the next day.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Chaostag, 3rd prime post-Fulcrum.
Loot
  • Mission pay:  250 eagles each (10% cut to Freelancers)

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Terrance, Tahu Tuala, and Tuala to Inky Agora, which was reportedly under attack by two aberrations.  Freelancer help had been requested by Jenzabar, the person in charge of providing protection for Inky Agora.
  • Despite the recency of their arrival at Ripa Daneo, the Freelancers found Inky Agora with alacrity.  Upon hearing screams in the grey market, they prepared for a battle with unknown adversaries.
  • The aberrations turned out to be three medium-sized beamers.  The Freelancers made short work of all three, but failed to discern their true nature.
  • Jenzabar took over cleanup and paid them the fee of 250 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern the same day.
