  • Terrance, Tuala, Quelenna, and Dryali accepted a mission from Hanohano of House Ha'aheo to return to Hindmarsh and free captured herb gatherers.
  • Hanohano sent the Freelancers west with Pike the carter.  Travel to Hindmarsh was uneventful.
  • In Hindmarsh they visited the gladiator pits as spectators, and observed Raquelle also there with her entourage, and a companion under illusion.
  • Vaughn Quickrain, manager of the House Ha'aheo warehouse in Hindmarsh, sent the Freelancers into the marsh under the guidance of Hirrathak, a marsh guide who was sure he could lead them to a bullywug village.  He led them instead to a forward encampment.
  • The Freelancers laid waste to the bullywug encampment, freeing three captives and taking the lone surviving bullywug prisoner.
  • The Freelancers learned from the rescued captives that others were taken deeper into the marsh.  They looted the encampment and left the marsh, along with the bullywug.
    • Acquired:  170 eagles, 1 chalcedony, 1 citrine, 1 jasper, 3 onyx, 1 quartz, 1 sardonyx, 2 star rose quartz, bracers of archery, headband of intellect, eyes of the eagle, and a stone of good luck.
  • In Hindmarsh, Vaughn got magical assistance to interrogate the bullywug, who confirmed the captives' tale of more slaves deeper in the marsh.  Fine Branch offered to use his hippogryph, Nighthawk, to scout the bullywug village, but Vaughn discouraged that and sent the Freelancers back to Cliffshadow escorting an herb shipment.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow Kenostag, 1st prime post-Calm.
Loot
  • Coin:  170 eagles
  • Gems:  10 50-eagle gemstones: 1 Chalcedony, 1 Citrine, 1 Jasper, 3 Onyx, 1 Quartz, 1 Sardonyx, 2 Star Rose Quartz

  • Fine Branch and Cathance Lobhdain accepted the mission from Mayor Popoki of Lakeview to locate the source of pollution affecting Mossey Lake.
  • Cathance and Fine Branch flew to Pirates River on their hippogryphs, quickly locating where Cathance and others had encountered a black pudding an eighth prior.
  • Searching upriver for more signs of pollution, they encountered and slew froggoths, aberrations which cause psychedelic effects on all who approach.
  • The following day, the Freelancers found a tower emitting a rainbow-like effluent which was obviously the source of the pollution.
  • At Cathance's suggestion, Fine Branch spoke to the owner of the tower, Gwidion, who agreed to stop polluting, and penned a request to Arnari Rilynn’sithek for Freelancers' help cleaning up the mess.
  • Gwidion gave the request to the Freelancers to deliver, along with two greater healing potions as proof of good faith.
  • After the Freelancers took their leave, Cathance filled a vial with the strange effluent.
  • Cathance and Fine Branch travelled to Lakeview and delivered the news to Popoki, Mayor of Lakeview, who paid their fee of 100 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Okeanostag, 3rd prime post-Apastron.
  • Fine Branch and Cathance brought the mission request to Arnari Rilynn’sithek, who checked the validity of the potions, and paid them 50 eagles each finders' fee.  Arnari also checked the nature of the effluent in the vial, but only found a variety of magical remnants in the mix.
Loot
  • Liquids:  2 greater healing potions, vial of weird rainbow effluent
  • Mission pay:  100 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)
  • Finder's fee:  50 eagles each

  • Terrance, Tuala, Quelenna, and Dryali accepted a mission from Hanohano of House Ha'aheo to find out why the herb shipments from Hindmarsh have stopped.
  • The Freelancers traveled with Pike, a carter from House Ha'aheo, to Hindmarsh.  House Ha'aheo covered costs and consumables, and they arrived without incident.
  • In Hindmarsh they took rooms in The Tipsy Tornado.  Dryali and Tuala observed a human, Raquelle, and her entourage in the taproom.  All were unusually well-equipped, and one person had their appearance altered by illusion.
  • After discussion with Vaughn Quickrain, the warehouse manager in Hindmarsh, the Freelancers escorted Hirrathak, a marsh guide, and 5 herb gatherers into the marsh.
  • Half a day into the marsh itself, they were ambushed by half a dozen bullywugs with nets, riding 4 giant toads.
  • The Freelancers captured 2 bullywugs and slew the rest.  Hirrathak and the gatherers were unhurt.
  • With no common language between the bullywugs and the others, the party returned to Hindmarsh with the prisoners and the partial herb harvest.  Vaughn Quickrain arranges to interrogate the prisoners, whose purpose was to enslave the gatherers.
  • The Freelancers and Vaughn concluded their lack of remorse would result in their being poor emissaries to negotiate freeing any slaves, so instead sold the bullywugs to the gladiator pits.
  • Vaughn paid the Freelancers their fee of 150 eagles each, enjoining them to escort Pike back to Cliffshadow with the news and the partial herb harvest.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow on Sieratag, 3rd prime post-Apastron.
Loot
  • 115 eagles from sale of captives to gladiator pits (split 5 ways, with Vaughn Quickrain)
  • Mission pay:  150 eagles each (10% to Freelancers)

  • Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, and Tahu Tuala accepted a mission from Lady Sonya of House Drogo to escort her party to Stormhaven, and ascertain if Ozias Cloudslicer was a reputable shipbuilder.
  • The Freelancers travelled via carriage with Lady Sonya, and House Drogo retainers Aron, Lue, and Marty.  They arrived in Haven without incident.
  • Roughly halfway to Stormhaven from Haven, the travellers encountered an awakened tree which attacked the horses.  Tahu and Fine Branch helped Aron slay the tree while Dryali misfired and was slow recovering.
  • The party arrived at Stormhaven on Sieratag, last prime post-Planting, without further mishap, and got rooms at The Gallant Gryphon.
  • The Freelancers investigated Ozias Cloudslicer:  Fine Branch investigated reputation with the betting market, Dryali investigated relation with the Great Workshop of Eternal Refinements, and Tahu checked with the harbourmaster.
  • Midway through, the Freelancers realized they'd picked up a halfling observer.  They split up to shake him, with unclear success.  Tahu warned Aron, to avoid danger to a scion of House Drogo.
  • Lady Sonya was pleased with the Freelancers' findings, and successfully negotiated a contract with Ozias Cloudslicer to build a new airship for House Drogo.
  • Prior to departure for return to Cliffshadow, the Freelancers noted rumours of "Captain Starbreeze," the Trade name for Niastacia of the ship Osprey.
  • Return to Cliffshadow was without incident, but delayed a day for Celebration of Apastron in Cliffgate.
  • Lady Sonya paid their fee of 100 eagles each, with an additional 50 eagles each for a job well done.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow on Chaostag, 1st prime post-Apastron.

  • Mission pay:  150 eagles each (10 eagles each to Freelancers)

  • Dryali and Tuala agreed to research the destinations for the Daystar cultist lotion shipments, information requested by Church of Storms and Church of Ua.
  • After 8 days of interviewing dockworkers and shipping clerks, poring over manifests and airship itineraries, Dryali and Tuala concluded the list of destination were these 8 waypoints:
    • Congress
    • Fame
    • Puissant
    • Resource
    • Standard
    • Superb
    • Tickler
    • Tremendous
  • Dryali and Tuala reported these findings to Tomtom Evans, acting head of Freelancers, who reimbursed their costs.
  • Freed for mission assignments Kenostag, 3rd prime post-Planting.

I, Nyls Arendi, also talked to Tomtom, and secured his assent for drawing this Daystar matter to the attention of the Recordkeepers and securing our assistance if needed.

  • Cathance Lobdhain, Kaelani, Quelenna, Torinn Myastan, and Khalid Malone accepted a mission from Mayor Popoki of Lakeview to continue scouting the source of pollution entering Mossey Lake from Pirates Dream River.
  • Following Torinn's advice, the Freelancers cut directly from Cliffshadow to the fork of the Pirates Dream river, following the treeline.  Cathance scouted from above on her hippogryph.
  • The Freelancers encountered and dispatched a pack of wolves.
  • Once at the river fork, the Freelancers assessed the pollution effects.  Quelenna confirmed the pollution is still in Pirates Dream; Cathance scouted the River of Dreams, finding nothing untoward; and Khalid scouted the Pirates River, determining the pollution is coming from there.
  • The Freelancers travelled up Pirates River bank, finding chemical burns on the landscape.
  • Once past the great bend, the Freelancers encountered a black pudding, and Khalid was gravely hurt before they defeated it.
  • The Freelancers returned to Cliffshadow, having decided they'd learned enough, and surviving is the better part of valour.
  • They reported their findings to Tomtom Evans, who paid their fee and said he'd collect the 100 eagles per each from Popoki.
  • Returned to Freelancers in Cliffshadow on Oriotag, 3rd prime post-Planting.

  • Fine Branch, Kaikoa, Kalleth, Tahu, and Terrance accepted a mission from the Typhoon Waiola Vaina of Church of Storms to Raid a safehouse for the blasphemous Daystar worshippers, capture their leader Mansel and any other cultists for interrogation.
  • Guided by the information provided by Church of Storms, the Freelancers staked out a warehouse at the provided location in the Trade District, and discovered 7 blasphemers operating within, including Mansel and a leader, Ethan.
  • The Freelancers devised a strategy to block the doors and raid the warehouse from the skylights above, leaving Fine Branch on the roof with a rope as a contingency measure.
  • The plan went awry and a fight ensued.  Mansel and another devotee again demonstrated divine spells in the name of the Daystar, and Ethan had mastery of several arcane spells.
  • The Freelancers slew two cultists and knocked two unconscious, but Ethan slew one of the unconscious cultists with flaming sphere before absconding with Mansel via arcane means.  The remaining devotee, who had wielded divine magic, surrendered.
    • Acquired: 83 eagles, 3 cats, 7 pebbles, 1 Blessed Belt of the Acolyte, 1 Glorious Scimitar (+1), 1 cloak of billowing
  • Questioning the captured cultist, who was a Rock sagani, revealed they reported to Mansel, who reports to Ethan.  Ethan leads Duquesne operations of the group, which led the Freelancers to conclude they have presence on other skyliths as well.
  • When asked, the cultist confirmed they want a presence wherever the Daystar shines.  They were unable to provide the recipe for the cultists' vile lotion.
  • The Freelancers delivered their 2 captured cultists to the Church of Storms, and debriefed the Typhoon, who paid their fee of 100 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers in the evening hours of Chaostag, 3rd prime post-Planting.

  • They carried out this duty from south to north in the cliff, and produced the following report.
    • Tunnel 1:  Crap in the dogleg of the tunnel from humanoid teenagers; dockside doors had rocks interfering with operation, but Torinn removed; cityside doors have surface rust.
    • Tunnel 2: Nothing in tunnel; dockside doors have poorly cleaned up anti-Skyguard graffiti; cityside doors have a crushed hinge, preventing closure.
    • Tunnel 3: Attacked by a swarm of rats in tunnel, which the Freelancers killed; nothing noted for doors.
    • Tunnel 4: Nothing in tunnel; dockside doors have dirty hinges in need of cleaning; other doors in good repair.
    • Tunnel 5: Nothing in tunnel; cityside doors seem well-kept; dockside doors need hinges greased.
    • Tunnel 6: Nothing in tunnel; both sets of doors have signs of dryrot in the oak timbers.
  • The Freelancers gave their report to Wymar Adelard, who despite his displeasure at discovery of crap in Tunnel 1, paid their fee of 50 eagles each.
