  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, and Tai Ho'onani to use the imprinter part stolen from House Grayaere to track down the parties responsible for it.  Freelancer help had been requested by Mael Grayaere, my uncle and Head of House.
  • The Freelancers decided Dryali would do the drop and signal, having used alter self to look like the rogue Valencia; Tai would stake out the signal place; Fine Branch and Ana would stake out the park with the drop.
  • Dryali was successful with the signal, and Tai confirmed it had been seen.  Ana and Fine Branch, in the park, noticed a foppish half-elf, Kel, and a burly human woman, Brit, that were also waiting.
  • Dryali made the drop, picking up a leather pouch with 100 stars in exchange.  Fine Branch and Ana watched Kel pick up the imprinter part and leave with Brit.
  • The Freelancers follow the pair across town and to the Crimson Fan's compound, with the help of Fine Branch using locate object.
  • Tai ran back to Freelancers Tavern for guidance from Damakaios, who decided to call them back and let the House sort out the gathered information.
  • Damakaios got solid descriptions of the two mercenaries from Fine Branch, and paid the Freelancers 225 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern that evening; Rochtag, 3rd prime post-Harvest.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, dispatched Dryali Tesbeth and Fine Branch to investigate and track down the perpetrators of thefts against House Grayaere.  Freelancer help had been requested by Mael Grayaere, my uncle and Head of House.
  • Dryali and Fine Branch visited Grayaere Villa, and consulted with Mael and his daughter Doria.  They learned that imprinter parts had been going missing in the last 3 shipments, and with a 4th shipment imminent, Mael wanted to learn who was behind the thefts.
  • With Doria's help, Fine Branch and Dryali interrogated the guards for this 4th shipment, to discover a guard, Big Max, had been taking the parts and dead dropping them for coin.
  • Doria used modify memory on Big Max so he would forget he'd been exposed, while Dryal and Fine Branch conducted a security inspection of the grounds.  On their advice, Doria emplaced a part for Big Max to steal that could be tracked by locate object.
  • Big Max stole the part as intended and dropped it off.  The drop location was staked out by a disguised Fine Branch and Dryali.
  • A Cloud elf rogue picked up the imprinter part and was trailed by Dryali and Fine Branch.  Of course they were spotted because Dryali isn't very good at that.
  • The Cloud elf shot Dryali in the shoulder with a crossbow bolt.  An argument and a fight ensued in which Fine Branch and Dryali eventually knocked out the Cloud elf.
  • Unsure how else to proceed, the Freelancers took her to Carnivale for interrogation assistance.  During the interrogation they learned her name was Valencia, she was in the Thieves Guild, and Jenzabar had recommended her for this job.  She was also to dead drop the imprinter part, and she suspected the employer was House Demazo.
  • The Freelancers then let Valencia go, but retained her coin:  161 eagles, 100 of which was paid to Carnivale for their assistance.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern in the wee hours Petraag, 3rd prime post-Harvest, at which time Damakaios paid them their fee of 225 eagles.
  • The following morning, Fine Branch and Dryali returned to Grayaere Villa to report their findings personally.  Fine Branch used remove curse to restore Big Max's memory, and then Doria kicked his thieving ass out.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Fine Branch, Tahu Tuala, Cathance Lobdhain, Tuala, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, and Quelenna to take the mission from House Amabel to dispatch the undead giant shark from that uninhabitable villa they'd purchased.
  • The Freelancers visited the villa whilst still arguing about their strategy.  After Ana used detect magic to investigate the atrium on her courser pegasus, they settled on a plan for Cathance to activate the undead-revival spell, Ana to watch with detect magic, and Fine Branch to dispel it.
  • There was nothing for Fine Branch to dispel, so the Freelancers fought and slew 4 undead sharks:  3 normal-sized and one giant.
  • During the fight they set an awning on fire, but Fine Branch put it out with create or destroy water.
  • Ana retrieved the shark teeth while Tahu and Tuala investigated the doors and windows of the villa.
  • The Freelancers relayed their victory and results of investigation to Damakaios, who paid their 225-eagle fee (post-Freelancers Cut).
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, dispatched Dryali Tesbeth, Fine Branch, Tahu Tuala, and Tai Ho'onani to hunt cheshires to provide pelts for House Hadid, with a firm admonishment to bring back only pelts, not live beasts.  Freelancer help had been requested by Yolanda Hadid.
  • The Freelancers visited the Most Serene Boundary monastery on their way south, and asked for any news of cheshires in the broad region.  In the morning, two of the monks brought them reports of cheshires a days' journey to the south.
  • After following the directions during a storm, Tai found cheshire tracks in the fresh mud and led the Freelancers to a clearing in which 5 of the creatures were waiting for them.
  • The Freelancers slew 5 adult cheshires and slew 3 kittens.  They captured an additional 2 kittens.  Tahu and Fine Branch claimed the kittens as… pets?
  • Tai skinned the dead cheshires, including the slain kittens, and the 8 pelts netted a total of 3720 eagles from House Hadid.
  • Damakaios was very reasonably upset that his wise directive not to bring cheshires into the Freelancers villa was defied, but Tahu and Fine Branch were unmoved.  For the nonce, he directed the kittens be held in the secured part of the gryphon stables.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Vrontag, 3rd prime post-Harvest.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, dispatched Fine Branch, Cathance Lobdhain, and Tai Ho'onani to the Garuda town of Kavali to determine why plants are attacking young Garuda.  Freelancer help had been requested by Sokullu, the Garuda leader in Kavali.
  • The Freelancers flew southwest to Kavali without incident, arriving late afternoon. The town guard admitted them and gave them directions to the inn and Sokullu.
  • The Freelancers learned from Sokullu that the attacking plants were ambulatory poisonous vines.  They interviewed a Wind sagani and two garuda who were attacked by the vines to learn more details and also where to go.
  • The following day, The Freelancers found three of these ambulatory vines near an old tree.  When they attacked the vines, a mysterious green lady emerged from the tree and joined the fight.
  • When the Freelancers defeated the green lady, a vine tried to revive her with the tree, forcing the Freelancers to destroy her and the tree.
  • The Freelancers did what investigation they could while Fine Branch's spirit guardians destroyed the tree.  In the end they discovered magic items entangled in its roots.
  • The Freelancers returned to Kavali and Sokullu paid their fee of 250 eagles each.  They decided to purchase 5 casks of Kavali's excellent mead for Freelancers Tavern for 50 eagles each, which I am drinking right now.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Oriotag, 2nd prime post-Harvest.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, dispatched Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Tahu Tuala, Hikawera,  Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, Tai Ho'onani, and Quelenna to skylith Leander to help the Redwind centaur tribe determine what was preying on their herds.  Freelancer help had been requested by Kleio, leader of the Redwind tribe.
  • The Freelancers took passage to skylith Leander on the Mallory, captained by the half-elf Shamoun.  They arrived after 5 days' travel in Hoiho, Leander's seasonal festival town.
  • The Freelancers quickly located the Redwind encampment and spoke to Kleio, their leader, about the predations on their horse herds.
  • The Redwind herds were 3 days' travel northwest of Hoiho and Kleio deputized Mnestra, a herd guard, as their guide.  She also loaned three horses, for Dryali, Tahu, and Quelenna.
  • The Freelancers travelled to the Redwind horse herds, where another attack had recently occurred.  The slain horse was clearly culled by vicious but unfamiliar predators.
  • Ana speculated the predators had been staying within the herd, so the Freelancers with flying mounts scouted over the herds for signs of unusual behaviour.  They quickly spotted "horses" which were not horses, but predators.
  • The herd guards separated the actual horses from these horse "horrors" as well as they could, and the Freelancers fought and slew seven such creatures, but not before Tai was gravely wounded.  Tahu and Quelenna were also badly injured.
  • Ana and Dryali also caused a stampede by casting four shatters.  Tahu patched everyone up while the Redwind centaurs tried to quell the stampede.
  • The herd guards were happy to have the predators removed, but unpleased at the horses injured and dead from the stampede.
  • After overnighting with the guards, the Freelancers returned to Hoiho, and Kleio paid 300 eagles each for the mission.  They secured return passage departing the next day on the Lamberton, captained by the half-elf Tele.
  • Upon arrival at Freelancers Tavern, the group paid the Freelancers Cut to Damakaios.  Tai and Fine Branch presented casks of koumiss as their exotic alcohol.  Koumiss is an acquired taste that none of us wish to acquire, so Damakaios put it in the front of the tavern.
  • Returned to Freelancer Tavern Fysitag, 2nd prime post-Harvest.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, Terrance, Tuala, and Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana} to investigate who cursed House Hadid's tree at the Garden Party after the Planting Holiday.  Freelancer help had been requested by Yolanda Hadid.
  • The Freelancers visited the Hadid Villa and spoke to head retainer Ingham and a gardener, Garriel.  They learned the supplier of the assassin vines was a shop of good repute called the Green Grove.
  • Naturally, the Freelancers next visited the Green Grove.  Fine Branch cast detect magic right before they entered the shop, but detected nothing unusual.  They spoke to the proprietor, a firbolg named Natik, but did not mention the Hadid Garden Party.  Instead they suggested they need an unusual plant for a prank on Damakaios, and Natik suggested they talk to his human assistant, Amarosa.
  • The Freelancers entered the Green Grove's back greenhouse to discover two assassin vines and an unrepentant Amarosa.  However Dryali persuaded her to tell them who arranged it all.  While Amarosa's story involved The Manticores, Fine Branch and Terrance recognized the factor as Taras of House Veltruska.
  • Upon their return to Freelancers Tavern, Damakaios was happy to learn they didn't end up in a brawl, but unpleased at this scheme they uncovered.  If they are not realized it was House Veltruska would have caused the Freelancers and House Lykaion  trouble, not just House Hadid and The Manticores.
  • Damakaios paid out their fee of 270 eagles each.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Cathance Lobdhain, Tai Ho'onani, Lorilla Anahera Amaia Turen Itu {Ana}, and Quelenna to take the mission from House Amabel to cull more harpies from that uninhabitable villa they'd purchased.
  • The Freelancers took flying mounts to the villa, sending Ana's familiar Hawkie ahead to scout; they concluded that harpies remained there, and stuffed beeswax in their ears as a defense.  They landed on the eastern roof, and immediately saw harpies on the third floor.
  • A battle ensued, in which the harpies proved tougher than the Freelancers expected, playing vicious mind tricks on them.  But the Freelancers prevailed, and slew 5 harpies.
  • Before the Freelancers had much of a chance to investigate the villa atrium or interior, the piles of bones around the atrium floor coalesced into an enormous skeleton of some water predator, even though the Freelancers tried to stop it.  When other bones also started to coalesce, the Freelancers fled.
  • Cathance lingered just long enough to determine the Freelancers would not be pursued past the boundaries of the villa property.
  • The Freelancers relayed what happened to Damakaios, who paid their 225-eagle fee (post-Freelancers Cut).
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern same day.

  • Damakaios, leader of the Ripa Daneo Freelancers, sent Dryali Tezbeth, Fine Branch, and Quelenna to Flaxton, which had been having trouble with something in the lake interfering with the production and growing of rice & flax.  Freelancer help had been requested by Iamos Broadtongue, Mayor of Flaxton.
  • The Freelancers opted to fly down to Flaxton, with Quelenna riding pillion on Fine Branch's hippogryph Nighthawk, and Dryali hang gliding from the edge of the Rim.  Despite some close calls because of Dryali's inexperience, they arrived at Flaxton that evening.
  • Upon arrival, Dryali and Quelenna checked in with the Mayor, and Fine Branch asked around Flaxton.  They learned that two people had been missing from near the Moana's Eye lakeshore for quite some time.
  • The next day, the Freelancers went to where the fieldhands had gone missing and discovered a giant crocodile, which attacked them.  During the fight, Quelenna jumped on top of the creature, and Fine Branch suggested they capture it for her mount.
  • After the Freelancers knocked it out, Fine Branch flew back to Flaxton and returned with mule tack & leather, which Dryali altered to be suitable for controlling the crocodile.  The Freelancers then escorted Quelenna, riding the crocodile, to the outskirts of Flaxton, and collected their fee of 250 eagles each.
  • The Freelancers, confident in their plan for controlling the crocodile, walked from Flaxton to Ripa Daneo via the Vathia Estia Tunnels.  Travel took five days and they arrived without incident, surprisingly, beyond.
  • Upon arrival, Quelenna persuades Glim Fibblestib Maekkelferce Murnig, gryphon master, to house the giant crocodile  in the Freelancers gryphon stables, before reporting to Damakaios and paying the 25-eagle Freelancers' Cut.
  • Returned to Freelancers Tavern Fysitag, first prime post-Calm.
